Default The Gem Crafting Recipe Thread

Well I know there is the' master gem list' and 'gem forging.. can we break the current caps ' but they don't really are about the recipes. Nevertheless the 'master gem list' is flooded with post and is only about the maximum and best gems that can be found.
So here you can post your know forging recipes.

To clarify here are the official names of the 3 new gem TYPES!

light gem=only stockable on light weapons [currently known as 3 point gem]
dual gem=only for dual weapons [currently known as Trinity, Ninja star or 4 point gem]
heavy gem=only for heavy weapons [currently known as hourglass or sandglass gem]

While Forging I found for each of the 3 Gem types that theyr exist in
    gold=get more money
    red=get experience
    light red=get health
    blue=block all attacks...
I know there are more please contribute and I will add it right here.

    Now to the recipes.
    Please post in this order.
    Example:

    [1.water attack +47] [2.poison defense] [3.On Magic 47 shield Hex gem]=[ Drop Gem 412%]

Can you confirm that there are recipes? Or is the crafted result random?

There exist definitely recipes for special gems. The most common recipe is, to use three gems of the same type which are are weak. If you forge for example 3x +~50 attack than you get one with around +100 not definitely a +150 one. I keep experimenting but I don't have a lot gems.

I think it is semi random. Although if you put three of the same type together you get the same type back. But the results aren't always positive. I put 3 medium healths together. The sum was like 65 and I ended up with 1 45 health.

Yep you're totally right. Therefore I don't suggest to forge three strong gems from the same type.

    3 x Gold 37 = 1 x Gold 30

    Not worth it.

    3 x forged gold gems worth 30 = 1 x Gold 30

    Still not worth it.

I don't think any high value gem is worth forging. Shame.

I think it's value is coverting two small gems plus 1 medium into a large.

    3 round health gems, +39, +42, +48. Reward was +45 health gem.

I feel we're missing something here, sooner or later somebody will come across it and hopefully it all starts to make a bit more sense!

I posted this in another gem forging thread in response to Silver's suggestion of creating a Gem Forging Master List thread -- once we get to a point where we're finding recipes for high-end gems or worthwhile, useful gems, then I don't mind compiling everyone's info to create & maintain a master list - separate from the original Master Gem List.

From what I'm reading, it appears that we will just have to play around with the forging until we can assess some type of consistency with the mixing. There seems to be a bunch of people hitting & missing on forging or using certain gem types and expecting an overall better gem of that type to get created & then getting disappointed when a middle-of-the-road gem pops up.

As for me, I'll be installing the update this weekend so I'll keep an eye on this thread over the next few days. As I'm just playing OG for the most part and at rebirth 340+, most of my basic gems are already maxed out so I'll be able to report on what I forge up.

Also, since I don't mind doing the updating and maintenance on the thread, will I have to create the thread in order to constantly edit it? I'm not much of a forum user and I'll probably need some help once I'm done with the compiling...thanks!

Hrm. That's not exactly an upgrade, is it...I had a similar thing happen to me with weapon drop gems - the forged gem was highher than any of the individual gems used to make it, but paled in comparison to all three added together. Seems like mixing three of the same time isn't really worth it.

    [On perfect(?) block, damage titan <n> {purple hourglass} - $110,000 sell price] + [Health 10 - cheap] + [Bonux XP <n> - cheap] =
    [On Magic, get 2000 Health {purple hexagon} - $500,000 sell price!!]

Absolutely worth it - I use magic mostly just to break a big attack - sadly I will have to stop using my Titan Break gem, which really shortens fights. So I am not sure which is "best".

Wish there was some logic to the forge mechanics .. but no logic at all makes it fun, too.

Sorry, did not write down the exact gem specs - thus the <n> and "cheap"

this has been the trend i have found, which is similar to n808's post:

any gem worth around 100k + random gem worth 10-25k + trash gem worth less than 5k= a new 500k gem!

sometimes with this formula, i have been getting gems worth 100k-200k...but more often than not it is usually a 500k gem...

Pretty easy way to make some cash...

I forged hundreds of gems already and it's safe to say that there is no easy formula. Except for:

    1. If you put in three gems of the EXACT same type. You get the same type. But this does not guarantee that you get a better gem. I lost a Wind +391 and a Shield +59, both of which were downgraded after putting into gem forge. Very frustrating bug.

    2. If you put in three gems of the SAME SHAPE, but of DIFFERENT TYPE, there is greater chance that you get a gem of the same shape, but that's not guaranteed.

    3. Put in three gems of different shapes, and there is no way to tell what you will get, except that sometimes you get a "jump" in gem quality. (e.g. $20,000+$1,000+$1,000=$100,000)

    4. The single best gem is very likely Triangle: "On parry damage 999", which sells for 500k. Why I say this: pick a good gem and forge it at least ten times with random gems, you will notice that eventually you ALWAYS get "On parry damage xxx" after some point, even if you put in gems of different types into the forge. Now the best gem I have is "On parry damage 989", which I got from forging a 500k gem at least 5 times (spending millions to skip the waiting.)

    5. It is now INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to get top square element attack gems and round attack gems. Elemental +350 or higher and Round attack +150 or higher ALMOST NEVER appear from your gem forge. If you put in three such gems of same type, the forge will actually downgrade the top notch one. If you have a top square/round gem, DO NOT put it into gem forge or you will lose it. This bug does not apply to low-level forging (so for example, 50 ice * 3 = 100 ice; But 390 ice + 200 ice +20 ice= 300 ice.)

Excellent research, and good point. How did you obtain so many 500k gems to put into the forge again and again?

I also like my triangle On Perfect Parry, get 1074 Health, and the 500k one I mentioned above. If the Perfect Parry, get 1074 health, had dropped the Perfect qualifier, it would have been an awesome gem.

I think we need to expand our formula lists to include the sale price of the original gem as well as the selling price of the new gem: For example:

Round Attack 44, sells for $17,000
Square Wind 60, sells for $25,000
Triangle Scratch gets 10 gold, sells for $10,000
Result Hexagon On Magic get 53 Shield, sells for $32,483

I actually did the above (didn't keep the sale price of the original gem though). That seems very random indeed and not worth the loss of three gems when comparing the sale price. I primarily use round gems (attach, health, and magic), so would be nice to have a recipe to forge high count round gems. Definately more research is needed.

I could get so many 500k gems simply because I have a lot of cash to spend. (I buy every single gem in the store after each rebirth for my gem forging.) I also "recycle" good gems. Sometimes a 500k is not good enough, so I would reforge it with some lower-tier gems to get a better 500k gem. The "skip the waiting" cost increases exponentially at first with your gem quality, but once it reaches 240k, it stops growing.

FYI, I 'think' I once had a 500k "on parry get 3xx health" red triangle at some point. (can't be so sure though because even if I did, I reforged it because I prefer the damage triangle gems.) I also saw this "On perfect parry damage 5400" gem, which was pretty nice.

There is now such a wide variety of 500k gems that I stopped keeping track of what I used to own.

I think it was On Slash Get 29 Gold/XP and On Perry Get 244 XP and something else.

This is such an insane money making scheme, you can get 500k gems everytime if you pay attention to the time estimate on the forge and keep rolling gems over, ok here are my findings.

    - Pay attention to the diameter of the Gem, there are maybe 4 or 5 sizes of gems, if you take a large gem and keep adding smaller gems to it, it won't lose value like you would by just adding a ton of large gems together (I think the size caps rolls over if you go over the max size)

    - Pay attention to the length of time it takes to forge, the longer it is, the more valuable

    - Pay attention to the number of sides on the gem. I'm working on figuring out a calculation based on the number of sides on the gem added together and then using the lowest common denominator to find the result of the forge, lets see if it works.

Thanks for researching that, it's very useful. I put my 500k forged them through the forge again, and it gave me a "On Parry Damage Titan 892" on my first try. This is a super-useful gem for me because my fighting strategy is basically to parry everything.

Just forge together a bunch of random other gems and eventually you get the 4 pointed star gems. I've now gotten 4 pointed star gems that give XP and that give gold during the fight.

Health round gem 40+ (sell price i think was around 250,000 - 200,000) + Poison elemental gem + Light elemental gem = On perfect parry damage titan 2000 Tri Gem (selling price 500,000)

Best money making scheme so far and only on rebirth 26^3

Confirmed: now I have three "on parry damage 999" in my repository. Don't think I could go further with those gems. Put them on my Rift, Kurtz and IB. Truly awesome and useful gems.

I am kind of disappointed that no four 4 pointed star gem helps you with your base stats (attack/health/shield/magic). They either help you increase XP or get gold... Pretty useless after you've reached a certain point in the game.

Currently I have a "on parry get 239XP" on my Kurtz.

After spending millions on gems "cooking" I have found a fun gem I would like to share with you guys its a ninja star gem with Parry All Atttacks attribute. What the hell does this gem do ? Well, I slotted it in and well now I can parry everything from kick, slap, shield bash ... lol and I just tested with Thane, I now can parry his combo and not just break his combo but also stun him right away... I am still cooking and experimenting, I also found couple of interesting gems too. Will post later

    Drop Gold 388% $208,243
    Drop Gold 146% $8,379
    Drop Gold 81% $1,659
    = Drop Gold 350% $199,218

Not a good combo-Bleck! But from what you're saying, I can reforge and maybe get something cooler.

Do you have to have the game running for the forge clock to work? This forge above was supposed to take 7hr39min, but it took maybe 3 hrs less than that. Plus I lost the gems on an early attempt to combine attack gems: I'd closed the program and when I returned, no gems in the cooker.
