Especially if you are playing alone and have no mic. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be holding down a hill, and someone gets in, kills a teammate, then flanks me as a result. Seriously a spot would have helped this. And you can see the livefeed, but sometimes I am fighting my own guy and can't look down at that. I am in the habit of spotting everyone I see. One of the reasons I hate playing with randoms is they never spot! This is part of watching each others backs. Went lonewolf once into ranked and my teammates spotted everybody! We had their whole team marked up and it was soo NICE.

I spot, but to me if the other person isn't talking and not responding I won't be doing everything I can to help you. IT's a team game and if you don't want to be apart of it....it's not always fun. I do spot a lot. IT's good and it gives you points. Why not. I don't do it for non-talkers on my team though.

I have an old controller that screams "Sir Grandfather Spots a lot", busted that L thumb press in a bit. In my case as a rook it was the only way I was going to get points.

Either they don't know how to or they are dumb and don't think it benefits gameplay. I actually didn't know about it for months but now I know I always spot.

I spot every time I aim my gun even while shooting my friends can't seem to grasp this concept that it helps everyone on the team including themselves

Yeah I totally agree, it's really annoying when people don't spot, especially when don't have a headset as well (which is the majority of players).

Funny you say this - I was just doing a Gears 1 coop play through and couldn't figure out why the spotting wasn't working, lol.

i've just rage quit from playing for precisely this reason. i don't have anyone to play with and everyone on my team seems blind. I don't see whats so difficult about pressing in your left analogue stick...

This should be text that covers the screen before a MP game starts. I'd say I got 6 levels from spotting exp alone. I'm level 221 at the moment, but all combined it seems reasonable.

Agreed OP. Earlier today I was playing TDM on Mercy and had the Heavy spawn locked down. Guy behind me gets killed but spots the enemy before he does so I'm able to drop the one-shot and pull out the gnasher to gib the guy tryin to sneak up on me. I've nearly got my spotting medal onyxed but I never play ranked since the 'dedication' of those players worries me.

Same here man. Seen the medal for it nd was like "how the hell do you spot?" But now its like second nature to me. As one said before I just do it as I shoot. But my biggest irk is teammates who don't pay attention. When you spot someone but they take you out, yet your teammate seeing the spot and the on screen feed saying I've been killed but yet they don't turn around. I don't understand how there can be so many players who don't pay attention to their surroundings.

I used to spot all the time. But then, I realized how so many people kill steal. I don't spot anymore just for the fact that if I actually down a person MYSELF, I get rewarded with the kill.

You forgo any kind of team oriented gameplay because you feel K/D is more important...
