No. The Gnasher has too much range in Gears 3 aswell. I'm on about the close range shotgun battles.

Whenever I play Gears 2 I just get so bored so quickly, I just find it too slow and clunky with the movement and all. I prefer fast matches.

It's multiplayer has been crap since Gears 3. If you are on about offline then I think the slow movement made the maps seem "smaller", like being scaled.

They're definitely better in Gears 3 considering the game has less stopping power and faster movement than in Gears 2 so I'm not really seeing at what you're getting at with that one.

Naaah! Gears 3 shotty battles tend to consist of two men sweating it out with 2 men spraying you with Lancer bullets from somewhere else in the map. That's my beef with GoW 3 maps, you can pretty much see everywhere from anywhere.

I played Gears of war 2 for the fun of it. (Mostly so I can play as the original sniper)but it was so slow. It was like playing underwater compared to Gears of war 3. The graphics compared to Gears of war 3 were trash.

What do you mean about less stopping power? I don't really understand that. I liked Gears 2 shotty battles more because to me, they lasted long, and it was more satisfying to get a kill. I also encountered less sponging with the Gears 2 Gnasher than the Gears 3 Gnasher. Like most people, you probably had more problems in Gears 2 than Gears 3... but I didn't.

The same was done in Gears 2.

The only game you could get regularly uninterrupted shotgun battles in was GoW1, and that was just because lag made nobody want to use the Lancer.

Almost every post TU6 "shotgun battle" either ended in 1 shot or 2 long range L trigger shot downs. Or an update. I don't see how that's any longer than the average Gears 3 "shotgun battle".

Really? Even if it was though, the battles tended to be relatively isolated. I never had the hail of gunfire suppressing me like I do now...maybe it's my perception of it...

I didn't really play much Gears 2 after TU6. I played it for about a year after release and I loved it. It usually took 2 close range Gnasher shots for a gib so you had a chance if someone shot you from behind.

Most of my shotgun battles in Gears 3 now consists of someone roadie running towards me and just getting a one shot gib on me. I usually get sponged by them so it just encourages them to do it again. I didn't have many issues with sponging on Gears 2. I usually had a good connection and often beat hosts. It felt so satisfying to get a kill in Gears 2.

I actually didn't really play Gears 1 online. I'm so bad at it. There is no alternate control scheme in Gears 1 so I don't think I will be able to play it properly anyway. I miss execution rules... that is what made KoTH so fun...

I think it's fair to say that we all miss the shotgun dominant Gears. No overpowered rifles and more close quarters, like it should be.

Gears 1 such fun times! I started using alt. Scheme to help me bounce better, but I still suck.

Sawed Off isn't really that bad anymore but the roll - hitbox issue makes it annoying to be killed by.

Gears 2 was great don't get me wrong. I got my veteran gear achievement and still have the medal set on main.

It just had a lot of issues that needed solving.

    CMS was slower

TU6 shotgun had a more powerful hard aim with really far distance

Sticky walk after things like chainsawing was a really rough bug

For a long time quitting did not upload anything to the leaderboards so people would quit to "Save their K/D" including hosts who got wrecked which would cause people to get no XP because you only get XP when the match is fully completed.

People would randomly get incomplete match penalties without reason.

Mixed playlists when it came to map packs basically caused warzone, KOTH, and Submission players to be stuck on launch maps only.

    The sniper has elevation issues.

.... I can see people liking "the good old days" of Gears 2 but Gears 3 fixed a lot of issues. The "problems" with Gears 3 people have are ones like "People use lancers." I'd rather hear that then the problems Gears 2 has.

I mean on gears 2. You could have games that last ages. Very tactical. You don't get that on gears 3 sadly.

I agree. Gears 2 had a lot of problems. But I think I could never truly respect gears 3 as I'm still in love with gears2.

    Anyone else feel the same.

I miss the maps, The battles. The feel.

I dislike about gears 3. The over powerdness, The quickness.

I feel gears 2 was a more skilled game.

THIS IS NOT A TROLL !!
You should quit this game and go back to Gears 2 full time, then. We've got enough people in our playerbase that no one will really notice.

have you, or anyone else for that matter, gone back to Gears 1 since playing Gears 3?

it honestly felt like i was playing Gears 2 again...i might've just got some laggy matches, but the movement felt overly shaky and slow and the Gnasher didn't feel as precise

i'm a huge Gears 1 supporter so it's hard for me to say harsh things about it, but Gears 3 just feels like a smoother and better game

Gears 2 will forever be the ignored middle child to me though; that game just felt completely broken and unresponsive

totally prefer the feel and tempo of GW2 Horde. I can play GOW2 Horde for hours and still do. One or two hours of GOW3 Horde and i'm done.

I finally figured out what the main differences are for me. GOW2 Horde feels like a true battle simulator while GOW3 Horde feels like an arcade game with cashier rings and all the other extraneous noises and prizes of an arcade game; we went from a GOW2 immersive Horde battle simulator feel to a cartoonish arcade game in GOW3 Horde.

I mean just look at the maps on gears 2. Properly the best maps ever created. I use to hate hail. But being able to choose it was amazing.

Couldn't agree more. Glad to see more people feel like this.
