Basic Info on Game
I am creating a game (already started a while back) that will sale for around $15 through steam. The game's name is Chaos Fang. The basic game play is a 3rd person hack and slash game closer to the look and feel of a Kung Fu movie like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon minus the 30 foot jumps and walking on air. So far there isn't another game set in this time period or this style of the action adventure genre. And to be honest there aren't very many hack and slash action adventure games, if any under the $60 price tag, so i think their is room in the market for this game.
The game will be six levels (including the tutorial level). The levels will be about 1 hour in length with the except of the tutorial level which will be closer to 15-20 minutes. Each level will have an end boss that the player must defeat to more forward. All the levels will be linear and story driven; this choice was made to make the game more manageable for a small team, and take away some of the temptation of feature creep. Alot of games have went this route, such as Mass Effect, Call of Duty, etc. Each level will be tailored around the boss that is there, though it must be said that all the Bosses will be human people who are masters of their given marital arts.
The combat will feature three styles that the player will switch to. One called Chaos: a style that uses the twin blades faced down in the hands, which excels at speed but lacks power or defense. Another one called Fang: a style that uses the twin blades turn up in the hands that excel at killing blows and defense but lacks speed and requires more energy. And the last style, Chaos Fang: a style that combines the strength of but the Chaos style and the Fang style but lack the full benefit of either, this style uses the twin blades one face up and another down. The player will be able to switch between the styles at will to tackle the different enemies they will encounter. there will be a combo based system and if the player gets enough kills without taking damage a special mode called Serenity which will replace all the attacks with cooler looking one that cost 0 stamina to perform.
One last thing, there will not be any health regen though out the level.
Brief overview of the Story
I wrote the story as there are five main areas on the continent Hruo. The four outer regions (North, South, East and West) are controlled and governed by the various clans. The Kenson Clan (based off the Nordic people, and use the Chaotic Wind fighting style. Which was shown in the five minutes of game play.) controls the North. The Gonetta Clan (based off of ancient Rome, and use the Earth Shaker fighting Style) controls the South. The Remsi Clan (based of ancient Greece mythology, and use the Hydra fighting Style) controls the West. And the Dairu Clan (based of ancient China and Japan, who use the Phoenix Flame fighting style. Also showcased in the five minutes of game play.) controls the East. In the center as the head of the entire continent was only known as the Royal Family (based off of medieval style England). The reason for this was to make every place the player goes to feel distinct and different, much like real life.
Back Story of Main Character
Raiya is thought to be the only surviving member of the Dy clan. Her Clan was wiped out when she was 7 years old, three days later she meet Sarah, The Eternal Sun, after passing out from hunger. Sarah took her in, and they fled the country together, that night was also the night that Sarah gave Raiya the name The Moonless Night. It was partly because of Raiya’s dark features in comparison to her own, and of course a play off her own name, but mostly for the night that she found her, that event changed both of their lives. Raiya and Sarah left Central Hruo that night and snuck south through the Gonetta territory out of, what was once the kingdom of the Royal family, to the country Asada where the royal family had allies.
Raiya quickly found out who Sarah was, the princess of the Royal family, and like most little girls of Central Hruo she always wanted to meet her and be her. She had no idea what was in store for her, she no longer had a home to go back to or a family. Sarah was curious why the she was out there that night, for the first time since that met, Raiya was speechless, she no longer asked questions about the royal life, or about various parts of the world that she was so sure she would never see. After Raiya fell asleep that night, Sarah’s advisor told her what he thought happened and why she didn’t want to talk about it, Sarah understood all to well, she to just lost everything she knew and loved, but she had to be strong enough for the both of them. The next day Sarah was waiting for Raiya to awake, she told her to forget about the past, that even though they both lost everything that they were going to a new place to start a new life together.
Since that day, Sarah adopted Raiya as her little sister, since she was 5 years older than her, they became the Sun and Moon. Years pasted and they settled into their new life, Raiya took back up training in her Clan’s style desperate not to let what was left of her clan die. She even went so far as to try and teach it to Sarah, but Sarah didn’t have an aptitude for martial arts, she evened insisted that Raiya didn’t need to learn because she would always to protect her. Of course the reason Raiya practiced so hard was to protect Sarah, she was the most important thing to her.
On Sarah’s 22nd birthday, Raiya found her alone in her garden crying. She asked her who was responsible for her sadness, intent on making them pay. Sarah laughed her beautiful laugh as her kid sister sought to protect her, she told Raiya that she missed Hruo and every year on her birthday she realizes that she would never see it again. That day Raiya made her a vow, no matter what the cost she would get Sarah back her kingdom; she was a princess after all.
In one year after making that vow, Raiya mastered her Chaos Fang style. She perfected her unnatural senses to an inhuman degree. She traveled around the country of Asada gathering Sarah an army and killing anyone who sought to go against the true ruler of Hruo, she had won so many battles that the name The Moonless Night spread across the country and into legend. It took Raiya two years to gather an impressive force to stand a chance of taking on the 4 Great Clans, who stole the land from her sister.
An agreement was made, Sarah was to lead the army in an invasion the 5th month after Raiya left, this would give Raiya time to take out the heads of the 4 Great Clans and throw the land into confusion. On the day of Raiya’s departure, tears streaked down both of their cheeks. They have never been away from each other for that long of a time before, and they both realized that Raiya’s mission could easily become a one way trip. As to say goodbye, Sarah gave Raiya a present that she had crafted for her out of the silver and gold royal family crest that she snuck out of Hruo. It was two large daggers with handcrafted images engraved on them, on one the sun, on the other the moon. So even if the worst was to occur, they would always be together.

Back Story of Main antagonist
Mico Dairu is the leader of the Dairu Clan. Her family developed the Phoenix Flame style, which propelled them to become one of the 4 Great Clans, which is still a well-kept secret of the Dairu Clan. To keep the style a secret only the heirs to the Dairu Clan are taught it, and the one who masters the style will get not only leadership of the Clan but the Phoenix Flame blade itself. She is the oldest of all her siblings, which consist of her three younger brothers, the triplets Angi, Ignis, and Ogon.
Before Mico became the Head of the Dairu Clan she had a streak of rebellion against her family. During one of her many trips through the land of Hruo, she ran into a young boy who wasn’t aware of her status. Nor she of his, this boy soon became the reason for her trips every year. But as the years went on she became closer and closer to the point where she would be expected to take over as head of the Dairu Clan. Knowing this would be her last time to see the boy, she took one last trip. She didn’t find him in his usual locations so she asked around for him. Not willing to go back without seeing the boy one last time, she traveled deeper in the heart of Hruo, which of course was very dangerous for a girl who was to the head of one of the 4 Great Clans, assassinations were always a threat. Whether for love, or just pure foolish youth, Mico continued her journey asking for the boy at every town she passed.
Eventually she met someone who knew him; the old man told her that the boy was on a mission for the Dy Clan to meet with the Gonetta from the southern region of Hruo. Her first thought was maybe the boy would meet with the Gonetta’s clan heir who had always fancied her, and once asked for her hand in marriage. But then she reheard thee words the old man spoke, why was the boy on a mission for the Dy clan? The old man laughed as she asked the question, thinking surely anyone this from into central Hruo would have heard of Rei Dy, The Red Wolf. Mico’s heart was crushed to hear the story, the Dy Clan and the Dairu Clan have always hated each other, even to the point of open war, had the royal family not stepped in when they did, surely both sides would have destroyed each other. They could never be, with tears freely flowing; Mico turned and went back the way she came. She didn’t stop running until she made it nearly out of Central Hruo, where she stopped in Temil.
To her surprise, Rei did not go to meet with the Gonettas yet, since this was the time of year that the beautiful girl from East Hruo came down. Rei had been waiting at a inn in Temil for a week hoping to catch Mico, but on the initial trip they just missed each other. As Mico was coming into the city, Rei was heading out thinking that he had missed her and maybe he could catch her before she wondered to far from home. Rei seen her first, he called out to her and ran to her, Mico exhausted from the trip, collapsed just as Rei arrived to her.
The next day Mico awoke to find Rei waiting for her downstairs of the Sleepy Inn. He looked the same as the last time she saw him, taller of course, but just the same. She told him of her journey, and about the old man. He was more surprised that she had traveled that far into Central Hruo looking for him, and he expressed as much. Mico realized that he still thought of her as an average girl from East Hruo, not as the heir to the Dairu Clan. So she told him, excepting that revelation to be enough, she left it at that and got up to leave with tears reforming in her eyes. To her surprise Rei stopped her as if he had not heard what she had just said. She tried to explain why they could never be, Rei just looked confused; he told her “A wolf will always follow the moon, even if it means leaving the pack.”
Shortly after that Rei and Mico were married, and Mico took over as head of the Dairu Clan. She named her brothers the Phoenix Flames, after her secret style, and put her them in charge of their own regions in East Hruo. The capitol city of Vilan she left to her husband Rei, while she over looked the country.
Years later Mico and Rei had a daughter, they named her Miya after Mico and the little sister Rei lost when the Dy Clan was wiped out, Raiya.

5 Minutes of Gameplay
This will be a preview to the game Chaos Fang. Chaos thing will be action based game depicting realistic combat never before seen in the videogame, the game will be set in a fantasy world known as *Hruo*. This is intended to give the reader a brief insight into 5 min. of gameplay. Be aware this is being conducted from a first person view, also it does not feature the games main character Raiya, but the head of the Kenson Clan and the head of the Dairu Clan. *Raiya was not used to showcase the other styles of the various clans in the world.*
You walk down the street, seeing your body sway to the movement. You look down to check your inventory and see your short sword, beautifully engraved with your clan’s symbol, the chaotic wind, on your right side with its reassuring weight, and five short daggers strung across a small leather band on left of your hip. Satisfied with what you see, you look up to survey your surroundings. The town you just entered is small and ancient yet, busy bristling with people going about their daily lives. As you walk through this town you realize its inhabitants are either staring at you or completely ignoring you, which is to be expected since you are an outsider and you don’t resemble anyone who lives in this part of Hruo. In the distance you see a sense of recognition come across a young man's face, quickly he disappears into a building.
Behind you a bell sounds, you start to realize that it's more than just a bell; it seems to be a warning bell, as all of the town's inhabitants are quickly leaving the streets. You guess that young man did recognize you, which is fine; it means you won’t have to waste time looking for who you came to this small town to find. She’s going to find you.
As if no one was ever there, the streets are empty. There are still toys from the children playing, fires burning from the street chefs cooking, and a rocking chair still rocking from his previous occupant. Thankfully you don't have to wait long, you were never known for your patience.
She steps out from the building your young acquaintance entered; at first glance you think maybe it isn’t her. This woman looks to innocent, to pristine to be a part of this conflict, she doesn't seem like a woman would carry the name The White flame of East. She wears a long flowing blue robe, covered in intricate blood red flowers. The sort of detail the common person would not be privy to, nor would take the time to create. This woman looks of royalty or something rather close.
She saunters into the middle of the street and stops. The doubt that it is not her has all but fled from your mind. She looks up, her eyes as red as the flowers of her robe. She reaches for her waist; you react to the movement withdrawing your sword in one hand and a dagger in the other, in one simple fluid motion. She catches the movement and smiles, as she undoes her robe, letting it drop to the ground. You see a large red bird from her neck to her right shoulder, the mark of the Dairu, the Phoenix Flame. She is indeed who you are looking for.
You quickly throw the dagger at her head, hoping to quickly put an end to this, but you know it won’t be so simple, though you wish it was. She effortlessly glides out of the way, the dagger sticks into a seemly random merchant’s cart. She begins to withdraw her long katana, as she does you hear click then a long grind like stone on metal. You have heard of this before, it is said that the Dairu carry their swords bathed in a flammable liquid and at hilt there is a flint stone set to ignite the sword as it is withdrawn. Not waiting to see if the rumors were true you start to run at her, using your speed to quickly close the distance between you and her.
She seemed surprised by your quickness to close the distance; it's obvious she wasn't expecting such speed. You seek to capitalize on her surprise, you start to raise your sword in an upward slash intended to sever her body in half. Yet she seemed to expect this, her sword bursts into flames and she raises it to block your attack, locked sword to sword she looks you in your eyes and smiles yet again. But this time upon close inspection you see her smile is not innocent at all, she's looks like a crazed devil, obviously anticipating the battle to come. She quickly drawls her hand across the backside of the blade, as her hand moves down the blade the fire seems to travel with it. The blade flickers out yet you see the fire is not gone yet only moved to her hand, you quickly jump back in an attempt to gain distance. You dive into a backwards roll just as she releases the ball of fire. It barely misses, it's only you were a second slower you would be dead. You regain your composure as you see her draw her hand back across the blade reigniting it. Yet for some reason the flames seem bigger and brighter. You realize this is not a fight you can win in close combat unless you can neutralize that fire which seems to come from the liquid on the blade.
You jump back again as she runs her hands down the blade extinguishing the flame. You unhook another dagger and throw it in hopes of breaking her concentration, you compensated for her attempting to dodge, yet she stood still and you missed. She throws another ball of flame at you, this one bigger than before and noticeably brighter. This one you cannot dodge on your own, as surprised as you are that one would make you resort to using your clan's abilities is almost insufferable. You quickly threw another dagger at her knowing it would barely miss her but close enough where looked as if you missed under stress. With the approaching ball of flame getting closer, you dash after the dagger as if trying to catch it. You ride the wind that the dagger broke by flying its aerodynamic body threw it, as a dagger passes by her you snatch it out of the air now behind her. You quickly bring your sword bear in an attempt to cut her from behind. As you are bringing your sword too she senses that somehow you’re now behind her and she turns to evade this sudden attack. You managed to land a blow just before she fully was in a position to block it, deeply cutting her arm. She jumps back, clutching her wounded arm, again surprise at your speed. She reignites her blade and presses it against her new wound cauterizing it. Her face shows no pain nor does the same she could smell her flesh burning. You notice you were right the last time; her blade is now bright orange from the heat of the flame. The flames of the blade are now leaping wildly several times larger than the width of the blade. They seem to be taking on a whitish color. Now you understand why they call her the White Flame of the East.
This time you smile, this fight is going to take much more than you initially thought, you undo the vest you were wearing and it drops with a heavy thud burying itself within the ground. Now you feel free without the heavily weighted training vest slowing you down. She starts to run her hand along the blade…

, and a lot of people seem to really like the "5 minutes of game play". I'm thinking about writing a book to go along with the game, though the book will be pretty easy to write (mainly because I already wrote a lot of the story, about 97% for the game), but i will wait and see how the game goes. This is what is important to me.
