    Post Talented Programmer wanted;

    Hello Programmers,

I need a programmer who can work on my game every normal day without excuse. My game releases later this year. The good news, most of the stuff is already programmed so it will be just adding to the code but if you don't understand code well then do not contact me.

Payment is around $40-150 per task.

    Contact me via:

    Skype: workingonunannouncedgame

    Email: gamer1346@hotmail.co.uk

    Thank you for your interest.

Hey guys, I figured out why this was so familiar, this is that one guy who was paying 150 euros for a level. I can't remember his name though, but we kept telling him he wasn't paying enough and he eventually rage-quitted rather than just listening to us and figuring out a way to get good quality work by offering payment and royalties or something else.

By the way, I say the same advice to you this time, offer royalties too, in order to make up the difference that you can't pay (we are all on limited or non-existent budgets).

Oh, I should say, his rates are more reasonable this time around.

It is the same guy - I just haven't said anything yet, since he's not crossed the line (second chances and all).

    Yup Jug, you got it!

But seriously, I know it is the same guy, but so far his requests are much more reasonable.

$150.00 for a current gen character is I guess 'more reasonable' than a few hundred bucks for an entire level but still.. How did you figure out it was the same guy?

The email, I remembered that email from the older posts, and they felt very similar: same tone, same promise(s) (more or less), similar payment style and amount, etc. He makes it sound like the game is almost done and he for some reason makes it absolutely clear that you work on his schedule, etc. In fact, just read the opening line:

It sounds harsh and like it would be no fun to work for him, in my opinion of course. He sounds domineering and controlling and, well, I mean "work on my game every normal day without excuse," doesn't that speak for itself?

Well I said this in other post with similar content, it makes me sad to read the kind of planning some people have for their projects, I got a mail from the OP he want a chainsaw from 20.000 to 60.000 max triangle count.... but why? why that INSANE amount of tris? is a complete waste of resources..... but whatever he's planning with this kind of choices it looks like he is not going anywhere.
Anyway good luck Reiss you are going to need it.

That is a ridiculous amount of tris! And I second the good luck thing.

Character and tone of posts, as well as their content. Most people around here ask nicely for things, comment, criticise. This guy just demands things he wants to appropriate.

I'd pay 140$ to this guy to stop making these ridiculious threads. I can't understand why those children insist to think that they can make games at the age of 13. Choose a specialty and learn until you can show some real talent.

Why are you trolls posting on his thread ? :/ if hes not "old enough" to post this stuff then surely the "talented programmers" who are gonna reply are old enough to make their own decisions about where they work, back off and stop ruining the forums

Some would argue that you're just trolling the 'trolls' with that reply, and that I am just trolling the troll of the trolls
No one is ruining anything, if anything the recruitment forum has been cleaned up of 80% of the **** that we are used to seeing in here by discouraging unprepared people from flooding it with nonsense like this and other bogus recruitment threads or at the very least encouraging new people to put a lot more thought and effort not only into their recruitment threads but also into their entire development effort. I say this with confidence because for every person who complains about how this forum is being policed (you are now the 2nd ) there are 10 people praising it

I'm not trolling, I'm stating a fact here and that is game development with UDK is not meant to be for kids. It's like you are calling us trollers because we advise a young boy not to smoke. UDK is not meant to be for anyone as the marketing BS claim, because it expects alot from a developer. Yes, it is the best engine out there in my opinion, but that doesn't make it suitable for kids to develop with.

Seenooh and Ironbelly got it perfectly right. We are only 'policing' (the connotations in the word are very wrong for what we do), because there are people who think game development is easy and it just simply isn't, so they should not post stuff here and then waste other peoples' lives.
