Old UT99 player looking to get back in the game

Hey everybody, decided last night that I was really missing some arena shooter action in my life.

I used to be a pretty hardcore ut99 player, and while I was looking around in steam, I stumbled across that nice UT pack, and it looked so tempting.
But before I buy it, I kinda was looking into what the player base looks like, mainly in UT3 (but 2k3/4 wouldn't be bad either).

Mainly I'm interested in what the population of LGI CTF servers are, or if that gametype really ever caught on/had any staying power outside of UT99. It really is the biggest deciding factor for me.

No one is playing CTF these days. There are a few nice servers that VCTF is being played on regularly.

The nox server is an iCTF server (shock rifle). It's pretty popular as far as UT3 goes. It's in NA (Chicago).

It would be hard to find a UT3 server with the LG mod. Don't know if you know but UT3 doesn't have an LG. Just a sniper. There is a mod/mutator someone made but I don't think it's very popular.

Yes as Taffy stated there are not many people playing LG iCTF. GDI clan does still run a LG iCTF server but it is not the most popular form of iCTF in UT3. I am sure that if you install and start playing there that a few people would gladly join you in it. Our (nOx) servers are usually busy from around 9pm est till about 2am every night. We have a few NA severs set up for it but the busiest is the Zp iCTF with trans. We also have a Zp server that we just set up in Denmark as well that is getting some play as of recent. You should definately buy the game and load up! If you don't mind playing regular iCTF you will always find a game!

Knowing that there are at least some iCTF servers out there has my interest peaked, and I think I'll probably end up downloading the game at some point this weekend.
