Will the upcoming gears book be in the present and past or only past? I would like to see how the the remaining people rebuilt civilization after the war?

Only the past unfortunately. Deals exclusively with the time around Marcus being sent to prison.

There's some Adam Fenix sections though!

Just the past eh? I guess Epic aren't too sure what to do with the franchise's future, if they're letting the post Gears 3 perio left untold for the moment. For the Adam Fenix sections, I'm truly hoping for some more answers than what I got in the game.

The events leading up to and including Marcus being put in The Slab.

Adams parts will centre around his relationship with Myrahh, and being taken to Azura.

Well the Adam going to Azura part won't be too bad eh?
I mean, the game didn't tell much about their relationship at all. I mean it kinda let's the player put two and two together but nothing more.

I wish they would go into more detail about the end of the Pendulum War. There are hints throughout the books. But no real detail.

The comics help to fill in some of those missing spots and there is one comic dedicated to the end of the war. Its called "Gears of War: Promise Me".

Well the fact that there is no "present" in the book, may mean one of two things.

1. The series is dead and they are going to do anything with it for a while.

2. The series isn't dead and they are not revealing any secrets of things to come.

OR they want to focus solely on the past to reveal the story of marcus time in prison, and Adam's detention on Azura.

It doesn't have to be either. The trial and imprisonment is crucial to Marcus as a character. The war vs the locusts is done. They are not going to extend the ending. There is much more material to continue the series.

No they said the gears story line is done. There won't be anything post gears 3. The locust and lambent are dead.

finally arrived, started reading and realized there is (what I believe to be) a cannon error on the first page of chapter 1. did anyone else notice this or am i wrong?
