I wish to learn how to script and code.

I am completely new to the aspect of coding and scripting, and I hope someone can aid me in learning how to do so as well as making sense of some of the tutorials on this site.
If anyone is interested in helping me, just be aware that I am pretty much a blank slate.. I know next to nothing about coding or scripting, other than a few terms.
I would really appreciate someone assisting me.

If you try to gather your first programming experience, than I would advice you not to start with Unreal Script. I would rather start with Java or something along those lines, since unreal script is not that well documented(compared to java or python), but still very similar.

Another reason is the fact that unreal script really needs the knowledge of the whole engine layout to be productive. So will will understand the unreal engine way better if you come back with programming experience.

The hard way:

2) Buy SolidSnake's DVDs http://eat3d.com/unrealscript_mc1 and http://eat3d.com/unrealscript_mc2
3) Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice.
4) Read Unrealscript forum section and ask.

ikifenix pretty much sums it up.
or just dive into the script that comes with udk and start messing.
NEVER! alter any of epics script, extend and overwrite instead.

the best source of information is in the scripts themselves, things are generaly well commented.
and when you get stuck people on here, specially in the programming section, are very helpfull as long as your question is clear and you show evidence of trying to sort it yourself.
