That sucks Walsh. I haven't been able to check since Saturday.

It is starting to look like it is a "Shaw" related issue, and I did speak with them yesterday and was told that no ports are blocked. I have a tech coming by on Friday, and hopefully by then the issue is resolved..otherwise I will show him the issue. I wish I still had my Telus DSL hooked up as I can try that. I do have a friend in Spruce Grove, AB who is on Telus and has had no issues..It seemed to resolve its self, and for him it just lasted one day.

Oh well...

Keep our fingers crossed its just a major server blip.

Its still waaaay better than P2P... So I'll take it. I don't tend to talk much playing Gears with randoms anyways. I tend to have a sailors mouth sometimes

well, looks like the problem is back. i could find matches the last 4 days without issue, but today i can't get into a server game again and it doesn't even seem to find p2p matches outside of horde and beast.

Same problem here I'm afraid, worked perfectly fine last night. I wonder if Shaw has some kind of filtering/throttling/etc in place over the weekends (which I assume is when usage is peaked)?

Yeah but its interesting why it only affects gears, and only through Shaw. My buddy on ADSL through Telus has no issues whatsoever connecting.

Guys, I deleted the last DLC (Force of Nature) and tried fo find matches and it works perfectly, I found matches with less 5 secs, the problem is the last DLC. Only With Fenix Rising works fine.

Yeah I've been having this since the game came out, I was able to connect to servers really quick for about 2 months but its back to the endless search and only create a game with all bots after searching. Really frustrating since I love playing VS

To any of the individuals who are on Shaw. I called them on Sunday night, and explained the situation to them. The tech hadn't heard about this, but once I explained that its only occurring to Shaw customers seemingly in a general area(Sorry Internationals) he said that they would look into it and he figures it may be a port or something being mistakenly blocked. I did send him to look at this forum post regarding it, and hopefully that will help the issue escalate a little bit. I would recommend if you are on Shaw give them a call and see if we can escalate why this is only occurring with them, as I have a few friends who live in either Spruce Grove, or St. Albert and are on Telus and have no issues whatsoever.

I haven't tried any games today or yesterday so I have no idea if it is still occurring.

Bumping this up. Anyone have anymore luck over the last few days? I am escalating this issue further with Shaw. But honestly just looking to most likely switch back to Telus.

@liquidchill. Who is your ISP? I hope it is still working when I get home so I can get techsupport to see it working, and then when it goes down again...They will know what ports they are blocking!

I'm being connected to east coast servers. I've been playing for 4 hours straight and haven't run into a single Mexican, everyone is east coast USA and Canada. This is awesome.

EDIT: Can't find a match again. Was anyone else able to connect earlier?

I saw your post earlier and was so pumped to play tonight... sadly I wasn't able to try until just now (10:00 PM MT) and once again, not a damn thing.

Seriously, this post has over 6000 views and has basically been pinned to the top of this forum for weeks and not one word from Epic? Give me a break. At least with GoW2 we knew exactly what we were getting every time we went to play.

Back to boosting achievements I guess.
