Flaming Retro Lancer Help.

Hey everyone,

Recently thanks to the TU4 the Flaming Retro Lancer skin is now available to everyone who played Gears 3 online within the first week of release (similar to Gold Hammerburst and Lancer). HOWEVER, I have been kicked in the face by that menacing Rank Reset glitch, and so I have not unlocked the Flame Retro Lancer skin as I rightfully deserve it!

Long story short: Yes you can check my achievements to see that I was busy playing Gears 3 during the first week of release and so yes - I am supposed to have the Flame Retro lancer. So my question is, Is it now impossible for me to obtain it due to the Rank Reset glitch? I was kinda hoping to complete my flame set but the Retro one hasnt unlocked for me.

Is there anything anyone/I can do, and am I able to get a download code for this like people were doing for the Flame Skins from the Beta? I didnt have any issues with the beta anyway, but yeah I was wondering if there was any possibility in me getting that Flame Retro Lancer as I clearly deserve and am entitled to it.

do you still have the save file from when you started gears if so wait a later patch my fix it (small chance)

why is such a good game riddles with so many bugs an issues

Sorry Sniper Spr3e, Im not sure what you mean by save file...?

I have been playing Gears 3 since day one. About 3 days after the Fenix Rising map pack was released I got rank reset, so Im guessing that all the Ribbons that count to the 'War Supporter' medal have dissapeared, and so I am sure it would be them that would gain me my Flame Retro lancer.

Is that what you meant? Would that save file still exist somewhere lol?

I am always glad to see these threads because it gives me hope that the flaming retro issue may one day be fixed. My wife and I are in the same position as Madmans85 and a number of others. Here's to hoping that Epic eventually addresses this. It is a prized weapon skin and a number of (still active) players have been playing since launch week and have met the criteria. We should not be penalized by glitches, especially when we still play in spite of them.

I've got the same problem... This title update 4 Flaming Retro Lancer "Fix" isn't really helping. Just causing more frustration and a new issue. Why not link it with the Beta Medal or Welcome to Versus or even better: A new event?

Please EPIC anwser our questions!!! Why else is there a topic 4 issues?

I cant say that I entirely agree with you (CAPTAIN FANTASTIC) HOWEVER I rightfully own the Flaming Retro Lancer and so far I dont have it. PLUS I've been rank-reset AND I've got the "We Few, We Happy Few..." achievement (Complete all Acts in 4 player Co-op on any difficulty) BUT SOMEHOW NOT the "My Fellow Gears" achievement (Complete all Campaign Acts in Co-op (any difficulty, Standard or Arcade).

I think Epic owes me. Actually it would be nice if they gave me an opportunity to play online for an hour with x10 exp. That would help me recover my rank.

ANYWAY, as a completionist it really sucks not having the last Flaming Skin for my collection!

something similair happened to me i played on the first week it came out and i have the gold lancer and hammerburst but to this day flame retro is still locked. and an easy way to get flaming beta skins btw is to call microsoft explain them your situation ask for flame weapon skins as beta codes they know if you have played the beta or not they just dont know what weeks you specificaly played so if have played the beta and dont have sertain flame skins just call microsoft but they sadly do NOT have a flame retro lancer code. last time i contacted them was like about a week ago. hoping this helps...

Yeah, what you say is true. The problem is, judging by most of our achievements you can prove that you did play in the first week of release! Too bad nothing can be done/HAS BEEN DONE.

There was a thread earlier on in the Gears of War thread about having a vote to give the flaming retro to those who played within the first week if they got some certain achievements. I don't think any changes were implemented and those that had gotten reset and played in the first week -Me included :c- won't be able to get the flaming retro even if they played in the first week but were reset

Yeah, they could judge it in accordance to the achievement date of 'welcome to versus', or since its not working then just include the 'Lambency' achievement and an alternative. The bottom line is that us loyal Gears Heads arent getting what we play/pay for. We want our stuff and Epic should be helping us get it.

A glitch here and there is forgivable (but not rank reset lol) but Epic should speak up instead of remain silent...

I have the same problem... I am missing my flaming retro! I played in the beta, the first week, and just about every week after that! I have the season pass and got the epic edition of the game because I am a huge completionist too! It bugs me seeing the retro locked when I should have it unlocked... I have achievements from the first night the game came out so that would be cool if they linked it to that somehow! Has anyone heard any recent news on this issue? Oh and yes my rank did get reset so I lost a bunch of ribbons and medals that I'm still working on that I should have completed already! I love gears but the problems do get annoying

as of now if you got rank reset theres no way of obtaining the flame retro cuz its based on that ribbon you could only get once yes it is very saddning but the same thing is happening to me and i havnt even gotten rank reset!!!

excuse me i bought the flame set beacuse i didnt played the beta but i saw A LOT of people that one day they checked and they had it (some friends of mine didnt played the beta and they have it) so i dont know. In fact is the only skin i need cause i also bought the all skin pack (dont remember the name) and there you can see the flame retro but i dont have so...???

Hey If you can somehow call MS and prove that you played in the Beta and all that, then there is a way for people to secure codes to download the Flaming Skins, Thrashball Cole, and the Golden Retro Lancer. Anyway that is besides the point.

THERE CURRENTLY NO WAY TO DOWNLOAD OR BUY THE FLAMING RETRO LANCER. You need the Golden Wings Week event ribbon on your profile to have it, however if You have been rank reset like me then you have lost it. I wish Epic would check the date on some of my achievements, to use as proof that I deserve the weapon skin.

And also, I know its just one weapon skin, but as a completion and customer of the game I deserve the help and assistance as for getting my Flaming Skin collection completed. The Flame Retro is the last one I need

The flaming weapon skins aren't currently available for purchase from Epic/Xbox Marketplace. You could always try ebay or enter the giveaways people do on the forum.

I lost my rank due to reset, I've still got my original profile data (though it's probably useless as I'm now a higher level) and I have achievements to prove I played it within the first week. I would love to get the golden lancer back .. I bought the weapon skin release pack as I saw the flaming in the picture, was disappointed to find I didn't get it.

I know I can get the gold guns If I lvl 100 in gears 2, but believe it or not I was rank reset in that too I was 90 but I'm now only 40 on it and being as there is a very small fan base still playing it I would have to level up through horde and I just can't be bothered to be honest

Flaming Retro WASN'T in the Beta -- the Golden Retro was.
Flaming Retro was unlocked by playing Golden Wings weekend -- however if you were reset; you lose it forever.

The same thing happened to me. Like you, I was reset and as a result cannot use the flaming retro skin. I also have the "We Few, We Happy Few..." achievement and yet the friendly fire mutator remains locked even though I have replayed through the campaign with 3 other people. I posted on a forum about it and Epic merely said they were looking into it and to this day I have yet to be compensated.

As long as you have saved all of your data on the cloud (or any other form of hardrive) you should have it back. If not, bad news sir...

Yea, I would be mad too, the flaming set is pretty damn beast. Sadly I did not have live to Beta test and therefore do not have the flaming skins But Hopefully they fix this problem for you guys!
