    Default Choosing Weapons!

first of all i want to throw this out:

for all that dont know the locusts are sacavangers when it comes to weapons, they will use anything they find, i read this a couple of times in EPIC interviews, that is why u see drones with lancers and stuff in some of the videos(older ones)

    my questions is this:

since u have 4 weapon slots 1 pistol, 2 grenades, 3 large weapon, 4 large weapon, and u can only switch the large weapon (u will always have nades and a pistol), like the lancer, shotgun, sniper, boomshot....

(ex.)i was wondering what happens when u pick/switch lets say ur shotgun with a sniper in level 2, do u start with the 2 basic weapons in level 3(shotgun and lancer) or do u get to keep the weapons u used in the previous level, if u do then would u ever see a shotgun again, i mean if chose the sniper over the shotgun, will the shotgun ever show up again, maybe in some locust's hands, b/c they will use anything, or will u get to choose from u inventory like PDZ(hope not...), or maybe every once and a while u meet up with HQ, anya, jack, or other squads and they give u a choice of what weapons to take

does anyone get what im saying?

    what do u guys thing?

    edit:

do u guys think that GoW should let u take ur squads guns, like in Halo, switch ur weapon with theres, i would like that option

then will u ever see the gun u lost ever again? maybe in almost all the level the locusts and COGs have the basic guns like the lancer, shotgun, hammerbusrt, and lots of them are just laying around for u to pick up, so i would be ok to drop the shotgun for a level or two and then find another later, but the boomshot, sniper and torquebow...would be rare finds.........

I dont know what weapons you will start woth, but i think you will have a stock set to begin every level with. Also, i can almost guarentee that you will be able to pick up weapons on the ground and such. Since E-day was so massive, soldiers bodis and weapons will probaly be scattered around Sera.

Example. In the X05 night demo, after you bust open the door, there are mutilated bodies. I would guess that those bodies were of soldiers and they have some ammo left behind. Most likely weapons that will be of use in the upcoming part of the level.

This is what i think, hope it helps

well i guess choosing from the inventory of weapons before every level would be ok, i just dont like it that much, but i hope ur right about the weapons all over the place, it should be like shotguns, lancers, pistols, hammerbursts......are all over the place and easy to find, but grenades, boomshots, snipers are rare and the game will tell u when u can get them, like maybe jack delivers a sniper to you, or maybe gus tosses u a boomshot in the middle of a battle so u can take out a tower.......

didnt mean having an inventory, i meant you get a stock set such as the lancer, shotgun, pistol, and grenades. Similar to most shooters like Halo. How you start with a pistol and rifle

o, i get it, yeah that could work, maybe u start with the "basic" weapon set ever level, but then it would suck to have a sniper and then loose it, i say u should be able to keep the weapons from the previous level and then if u want to get ur shotgun or lancer back just find one on the ground or something

that reminds me, do u guys think that GoW should let u take ur squads guns, like in Halo, switch ur weapon with theres, i would like that option

    Question

    Hey.
im sure this has been posted somewhere, so can someone give me a link or the thread, but i was wondering...
Is there a description of the guns anywhere, i know some of the guns, but i need a description of some such as the Boomshot and torqbow. I know the obvious guns such as sniper and shotgun, but im not familiar with all so i was wondering if anyone had a place where all the guns that ar known are listed, along with a description.

    Thx

    here u go

torquebow= crossbow that shoots explosive arrows that stick into things and can be remotely detonated

Boomshot= shoots an explosive bomb that bursts into a bunch of smaller very destructive bomblets

    Hey Uday,
This should probably be in the Multiplayer forum, but...
I think i read somewhere in the forums people saying that limbs can be shot off your enemies in Single player, i was wondering for example... If you shoot someone in the head with a sniper or shotgun, will their head fly off, and also if u know, will this apply to multiplayer.

well anything that applies to SP will be in MP for sure, but i have heard about and seen limbs being shot off, im not sure about the head thing, but every once in a while arms, legs, and other stuff will probably go flying

I am thinking that it depends on the scenario. Level 1 may be a continuation of level 2, so therefore they start with the same weapons they used in level 1. And when the scenario ends you start up with new weapons that fits the enviroment you are playing in on the next level.

that could work, good thinking, and after starting a new level/senario with whatever weapons u still have the choice to switch them any time....

I think that is how it will probably work. I hope that the game has guns littered throughout, mostly shotties, lancers, and hammerbursts, because the games that have very few guns throughout the map suck. Also, i hope that there is alot of ammo around.

yeah you guyz are right, thats wat could happen, like since the games has chapters in the levels, you have the same gun that you had before through all the chapters then you get new ones next level of chapters, or maybe it could be like this:

I guess you didn't watch the PS3 showing at e3?

The guy playing a game says, this game has many next generation features like, "Real time weapon change" and then it shows the weapon change in the characters hand. Everybody began laughing. Kinda goes with the whole CRAB thing.

Anyways, the game Actually does show cool animations of weapons switching. Watch the vids!

i just thought of a good way to get weapons at the beginning of each level. just like sargeant randall on Hill 400 of Call fo Duty 2 marcus or anyone could yell gather weapons and ammo and voila. theres your inventory.

yea that would be nice, but that only works if your defending, it doesn't make alor of sense totake the time for inventory if ur gona move out

I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I get what you were asking in the initial post. I kinda liked how GRAW handled weapons and when you were able to switch when you met up with a mobile HQ. Thats just my opinion but I felt that system worked well and it lent to realism a little bit more.
