new LE characters = more happy people?

Soooo with the new dlc of course brings some familiar faces. I personally am happy that epic is releasing Mech Barid and all the other characters. Now I don't have to try to get them off eBay or try to trade for them on Facebook. Even though they won't be the same color as the orig,you can't tell the difference in a shotgun battle. So with the new release of these LE characters and the ones in the past and hopefully more in the future,will this bring more happy faces to the gears community?

I know there's people out there who rage because they want there characters to be "exclusive" but its just a game. Those of us who were only able to maybe obtain comm Dom from gamestop or who couldn't obtain any characters because they didn't pre order are going to be very happy in my opinion. New characters will make less rage threads about the queen locust and about the Skantus sponging. I'm very excited,how about all of you?

It's good that they did this. I'm fine with pre-order bonuses, but you shouldn't have to pre-order at 4 different locations JUST to get all the content available in the game. That's just silly.

I would of preferred new characters. I don't wanna walk round as a LE characters showing I couldn't get the real versions. Characters like Recruit Clayton I loved, shame LE characters take place of opportunities for characters as good as him.

This exactly plus paying for characters you basically already have isn't fun.

Most people are angry because we bought the seasons pass and now we are getting DLC that we already have so why would I wanna get something twice but pay a portion the second time.

I have Mech Baird and Com Dom, I just think it will be lame when everyone starts running around as Mech Baird LE it's gonna ruin the novelty for me anyway.

NAH baby I picked up 4 copies of the game. The epic and LE are still sealed like the other LE GOW 1&2. But picked up 2 reg so I could go room to room with out having to remove the disc. *** the only game I do this with so don't get it twisted... I just love my Gears of war

I have all the characters through trading and while I have no problem with them being released I'm gonna be super if I see all the LE's used as much as I see savage kantus LE and will have to switch out for something less used but at least you can tell the difference between the LE's except for savage kantus of course

New characters, or bust. I've had all the preorders for months now. It sucks only getting one really new character. A color splash doesn't do it for me.

This is one of the trickiest subjects for me, because you'll find just about everything I have to say is well hopefully intelligible, thought out, in the best of the community and geared towards creating interesting engaging dialogue or just general positivity for a game I love so much and am grateful to epic for. But I've struggled with these coming out a bit and I feel guilty that I have because it's counter what I stand for (if the consensus of the community is happy rather than dissapointed then I and should be selfless and see in the grand scheme its good for everyone). I got over the release of the LE edition of the character Mechanic Baird I've been using faithfully for 7 months, I know if I didn't have the money or a best buy but loved him that next week would be a great time.

BUT, I don't think they even need to bother with the phoney LE stuff. Just give the EXACT same character. There's no difference, I think you either add a different tool to his belt, another symbol on the hat and a bit extra chin scruff or don't do anything at all. But to simply re-colour something and call it LE and then actually boast about this character surprises me. I have a marketing background and that's not what I thought one of the strong suits of the DLC was (however I recognize I don't have full objectivity on this issue since I'm a Mechanical Baird die-hard). Secondly I paid for the Season Pass and they are giving me something I have, just clogging up the character selection screen. That's no big deal because I love the content of the DLC and will be up at dawn to download it like every other die-hard so I won't even suggest I'm getting ripped off.

Lastly and worst in my view is these achievements tied to using them! I'm not a big achievo guy, but I'm a big Gears guy so eventually I can't help but do them. I've probably played 2500 waves with Mechanic Baird, now they want me to take this version I'm dissapointed with an use him endlessly? And worse force others so that we're all looking in a mirror instead at the variety of unique, vast and great character skins they provided us. That I think they really flubbed on. Notice they didn't tie achievements to the Beta Cole or Kantus LE but instead the new skins in Fenix. This time since they cut us a little short in the character skin department, they couldn't help but force us to use the LE characters.

Alright I'll take my serious hat off! Game's too much fun for that and even with this recent achievement news I'm not raged of course! Happy for those that are getting him just would have personally approached this situation in about 10 different ways myself if I was Epic.

i got com dom and sge. both codes i won. i feel at this point, months later, that these characters arent super special anymore anyways. i woulda preferred new ones like you said.

They should have been released in a different dlc pack in IMO. I like this upcoming DLC though.

I don't have a problem with them re-coloring and releasing the pre-orders that way. I have the originals and think they look better but I wish they hadn't put three of them in this one DLC.

Agreed. instead of LE characters they could have released new characters... or another Cole skin.

But!! I just wish they didn't include them in the Season Pass DLC I don't have Mechanical Baird or Savage Grenadier Elite but I would have payed for them separately Idk I just don't want duplicates on my character list and I also wanted new characters but its ok
