Gears Of War PC failing to install (Update:SOLVED)

Hi All,

I downloaded the latest version of GOW (PC) from the Xbox market place...I have tried to install it 4 times and also downloaded the game 3 times today.I am receiving the error message..


"Install of item failed. If retry fails, delete the item and re-download.
Code: 8007000D"

I have googled the net looking for answers but to no avail so I thought I would ask here..

I am logged on as the Administrator and the laptop's spec is as follows:
Win 7 (64bit)
8 gigs of ram,
Intel Core i7,
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M
200GB free space on C:\

Any suggestions would be much appreciated..

Hi All I have been asked by Sorted to post my solution..it worked for me but I can't guarantee it will work in your case

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you...first of this problem is a b@st@rd to solve as I shall try to explain.When you download the approx 11GB it is in CAB files..this is were the problem is.One of the CAB files has been corrupted during the download process so try this.

Check the log file that is created to find out which CAB file is not DIGITALY SIGNED. (Mine was CAB14,yours maybe another file)
Find the CAB file in the place were you downloaded it.
Right Click and select Properties
Select the Digital Signatures TAB
In the Signature List highlight the entry and select Details
Now if the CAB file is signed it will say "This Digital Signature is OK"
If NOT you have to redownload the entire 11GB and check again.

Now the way I did it was I did not Delete the first download..I changed the download folder to elsewhere on my PC,and downloaded the game again,the reason is incase another CAB file is corrupt you can just copy the CAB file you need from your original download.Check that all the CAB files are stating "This Digital Signature is OK" before you start the install..I hope this helps you in your quest to get it installed...Get back to me if this is not enough info...sorry for the long explanation,I got no help from MS or Epic so I know how you feel..

Thank-you Papa Midnite! Got it! Worked just as you laid out. Thank-you Thank-you. I wonder where would be a good place to stow these signed non corrupted cabs for others to locate that find themselves in the same boot...? PM with some suggestions if you've any and check your Live for request et al.
Never played this on the xbox (don't own one) and I seem to be rather poor at it on my rig upon first go, but I'll get the hang soon enough. Story line is redic, but fun none the less. I am using a wired afterglow, sans wasd/mouse... just so I can kick back.

This fix didn't work for me.
What I did was go to the download file and Extracted the Cab1 file(Extract here), opened the file that says "Content" and double clicked Setup.
It installed fine, when I tried installing it through GFWL it would give me issues.

i got mine to load on a different pc, but still nothing on the pc downstairs. but at least i got it to work somewhere.
