    Default Quality of texture

Hello , im created a map with static meshes imported from 3dsMax
Everything is good, but problem in quality of one static mesh.
as you approach the object of its quality improves.
when viewed from far away, the quality is very poor.
I put in DetailMode High, but it did not help

    far

    close

    Thanks

Your map scale is probably too big--the quality degradation is based on how close you are, so if it's really big then a reasonable distance would end up being a farther distance than what you would want.

I don't know, I have this problem too and my scale is roughly UT3 scale. I actually have this with my character when using 3rd person camera. If I remember right Gears of War scale is over 100 times UT3 scale, so I don't think that is the problem.

    Increase the mipmap distance multiplier?

It might also be that you have your mesh scaled weird, or maybe the origin is messed up or something along these lines.

It's called "Streaming Distance Multiplier" to be more specific. It's in the static mesh's properties (from the content browser, not the instance placed in the level).

when importing textures for weapons or vehicles make sure to set the LOD Group to the corresponding setting.
