Going to onyx the Lancer next... already got the HB down. Gotta get my flame suit prepared for the Retro Lancer...
These are the kinds of posts I really appreciate, discussing things that bother you in game in a civil manner. I agree with almost all of your points, especially the Rolling/ Evading section. The hitbox during a dodge roll is so ridiculous. But anyways, thank you for being civilized and taking time to express your thoughts.
Makes me feel useless when a well-received and popular thread is getting this much feedback (positive and negative), but no one from Epic has responded
Thank you Epic for making one of the most insane games I've ever played!!!!

I don't see why you want all but one rifle to have stopping power, that's a bit unbalanced in my opinion. Retro should have little to no stopping power but the I think the HB and Lancer should keep it, they're long range suppression rifles. Stopping power is a necessity if you're using them to avoid close range bouts or trying to take out somebody before they can get to cover or get close.
I like the new Ink, the ink in Gears 2 in my opinion was useless. It was only really needed to keep your opponents from getting power weapons. What exactly is a cheap kill btw? To me a cheap kill would be being able to down somebody with a gnasher from across the map. Using the new ink as intended is not cheap, sure it sucks when it happens to you and is inconsistent but this what people used to do with the smoke from launch Gears 2 xD
Wow you were'nt joking ! That was a long post but it was well organized and easy to read. Well done. I agree with just about everything you said about the weapons except...the smoke nade makes too much smoke? I think Epic finally got it right this time, sorry
If you need SP to get kills with the Retro, then lol. All there is to it.
HB is a long range rifle, it even has reverse falloff. Ideally, SP would just affect you based on direction.
It really does bug me when someone glues me to the floor when I'm not even running into their bullets.
G2 Ink had massive uses. You just had to be clever with it.
Give us that back, with a damage boost, and the game would improve drastically.
Cheap Kill- you don't even need to throw it remotely near them, it still stuns them.
The fact that you are stunned for so long, with a chance of instantly dying, and then can WALK, not run, up to you and just kill you, is just stupid. Nobody likes losing control of your character. That's why the G2 smokes were changed.

Gotta keep it organised or nobody would take the time to read it all lol.
I didn't say you needed SP for the Retro O.o I agreed with you on that part. I think SP is still a must for the other rifles, though I really only see drastic SP on the Lancer which I guess makes sense.
I'd rather the Inced get a bigger field radius to take it's place. Besides, MOST (not all) of the time when I see someone throw an ink, it usually stuns both ways anyway. It's just a matter of taste I guess, I'd rather the ink be useful during heated moments rather than puff up a cloud of ink that most people can avoid. And if it did come back and get a damage boost, wouldn't it be doing the same thing just without the stun?
But when I say changes for the SP on HB- it's only in the current state.
If SP were to change depending on your direction, I've no problem with it. But in the current state, where once you get shot you can't move, it seems too strong.
Incends already have a killer radius lol, what with the hitbox not updating when you evade. That just makes them so much stronger.
If it came back with a damage boost, it'd be nothing like the current "Ink" (it really isn't an Ink)
Most of the time, the (tiny) cloud left behind does absolutely no damage.
If it came back with a much bigger radius and a damage boost, it'd be so much better. Area of Denial grenade with a tactical use, not some dumb stun.
I had this idea about the Ink the other day but I'd first like to say I don't have a problem with the way it works currently just this could make all parties happy.
So smokes cause a cringe but still allow you to walk, take cover, or jump normally. What if Inks did the same thing but to a higher degree? So your ability to jump and take cover would be removed and you would walk slower (think like stopping power), but you don't ever stop completely? I think that would maintain Inks function as being a more powerful smoke, but then allow for SOME degree of counterability when you get hit (obviously avoiding it is a counter, but that is true with everything). However, direct hits should still be total stun so that 1) it rewards skillful throws and 2) the ink cloud will kill them.
I think that would work well. It keeps doing what it's doing but puts Ink more between smoke and Incids on power scale.
