How to Make a server

Im trying to make a server so beta testers would help my Monster hunt 2k4 thread but i cant make it internet. only lan help!

Go into your settings and check if you have your game's connection set to LAN or internet. Could be that this is preventing you from hosting an internet game.

my server have lan ip which is different than my internet ip how do i change it

if you have a router you need to foward the ports go here http://portforward.com/ and look up your router then look up the game in same site

how do i know which router is my router model

its a very complicated thing to do you get off your chair reach over to the router then turn it to the side to look for the model number lol j/k i just had to

just look on the back or side of router and you should see a model number and see what brand it is and look it up on that site

Also If you are behind NAT , You will need these settings '::

Note: The settings you need is in middle , the upper and lower settings are for that so you can know where to put it.

The else you have to do is open ports and this , and GL .

should point out, if you are using a computer that is behind the same router it will allways appear to be lan, as it is lan for you, that doesnt mean others wont see it in there server brouser list. other users will connect via your ip, you however will conect via the lan ip.

all i did for my lan server is open up the required ports

ports UDP 7777-7790 (tbh i think you only need 7777 to 7784 iirc but thats the full package i think)
port UDP 27900 (is the port that advertises the server so people can see it in the brouser)
and port TCP 8080 (but thats for webadmin which you might not care about)

and people could join fine, and i join via lan tab

I tried it with pf config when i launch its there in the internet and lan but on internet its ping is a ? while the lan shows the ping

I just want someone to help me by making a server and test to see what it need to be done about it
