Horde Freezing on Wave Completed!!!

There is a serious problem with in game freezing.
Freezes happen in Horde and Campaign.

The freeze occurs mostly on Wave Completion in horde when there is co-op involved.

We have an Epic Group of Insane Horde players that can verify this,

is there someone who we can contact to give information too?

This problem seems recent maybe around RAAM's Shadow or later, and it is a definite problem.
The freezes do not happen to all players but happen to many.
It does not matter how old the xbox is, we have white xbox's to Gears of War xbox's that are having these issues with freeze screens in Horde.

It seems to be an issue with data being transfered since 95% of the freezes are at the time of Wave Completion screen.

Some of us even went as far as Being All Marcus's hoping it was dialogue or a new character that was causing the issue.
We even turned off gore.

We need Serious help, we will do anything you like us to do in order to help you solve this problem.

Personal Info:
I have a white xbox 360 with a jasper chip > chip was an MS update to reduces red ring
I also have a new xbox 360 slim

I have 2 hard drives a 20gb and 250gb for my white Xbox that I reformatted to make sure nothing was corrupt to cause freezing,
I have my gamertag saved on USB so I can play on either xbox.

My internet is Comcast cable,
I use CAT5 from my xbox to my Linksys WRT54GL Wireless Broadband Router
I have all the xbox ports open per xbox recommendations.
my network stats are around 33 to 36mbps download 4 to 6mbps upload speed.

My disk appears to be scratch free, I have the game downloaded to the Hard Drive,
I also tested with the game downloaded to my USB


I found most of my freezes occur when the wave is completed or failed.

A note:
Yesterday Played horde on Insane with 1 easy 2 hard mutators on Mercy
Private: I was host:
I froze on wave 40 and 49, and since I was host game was over.
I ejected the disk, then shut off the xbox.

Both times my team members kept their high score, while I did not.
It reverted back to my previous high score like the game did not register for me, but did for my team mates.


I also had major freeze issues on 2/25/12 I was not host:
I also just got through playing a public horde, team mates never freeze. I gave them a warning about my freeze issues.
At wave 37 the team failed, I then froze.

happened to me yesterday 1st time ever.

have 250gb slim xbox (7 months old).

Playing splitscreen with my son, we hosted a horde game with some friends;

Sandbar on Normal & mutators = Infinite Ammo/Super Reload/Vampire

Started game with 4 players, 5th player joined in wave 30.

Wave 35, game froze on wave end.
We could see the wave score but it froze before showing the awarded xp,
BUT we could hear the sound of the xp bar going up (recurring).
On the other hand my friends said it all went blurry for them but they could move about.
I could not do anything, I had to eject the disc to unfreeze xbox.

Sandbar not host we were in a xbl chat.
Game froze on completion of Wave 30 for 3 of the members that were not host
2 members were on split screen.
Party was talking in xbl chat as game froze so there was no way we were disconnect in XBL this definitely seems to point to the game itself maybe the server I play through?

thought I would try a DNS So I went and got namebench to find the best server, which changed every time I searched for the fastest DNS.

I put in my network for xbox

208.67.222.222 resolver.opendns.com
8.8.4.4 Google DNS
since they had the over all best stats compared to Pittsburgh comcast 75.75.75.75

Well that didn't work either.

A good friend just got a reset, do to freeze in horde! Good Grief!

I have backed up my data with several different backup storage, and now I'm going to start over, Yes I'm going to be a White 1 for a couple days or until I freeze in horde, ruling out my game save file is causing the issue.

It is a CRYING SHAME that we consumers have to do epic's testing job! Shame on you guys! This is ridiculous that you can't even come here and acknowledge the problem and say we are looking into it and then man up and actually look into it and a fix the issue!

We really need your help and silence on this issue is disgusting!!

Yea I know many threads have been started, but I'm going to make it my mission that Epic knows and acknowledges this issue.

After my planed reset to white with a clear game save file, if I still have an issue, I'm going to go through all the credits, and find everyone who worked on this game and contact everyone!! I'm not joking either!!
I'll even write certified letters to Epic, I'm a small business owner and it's a shame we can't even find the right person to contact!!

wish it was that simple,
I've reformatted and installed the game on a 20gb hardrive, and 250 hardrive, I took out the hard drive and downloaded the game on a 16gb USB.

Today I spent $35 for my second account so that I can see if it is in the game save and campaign save file!
Oh but get this!
I backed up my data in 4 things.
I then install the game on a USB and only the game there is no save game folder or campaign folder. I have cloud shut down!
I log on and I am my Rank of 47, my medals and achievements are still there and everything except for the icons of the achievements to the DLC.

Tell me where all that stuff comes from if Epic and Xbox says they do not have your saved information?.

as I stated I purchased a gold account for my other gamer tag since I couldn't get my Rank Reset by just deleting my saved files. I don't want to corrupt the files in the sky so I thought for $35 I would get a 12 month XBL from Amazon for my other account.

Anyways
Went on Public, Played 20 waves on Checkout, then left when we got a party for insane,
Played Insane with Must Active, Vampire, Super Reload on Clocktower
Failed at 37

Then we played a full 50 with out fail on Dry Dock Insane with Must Active, Vampire, Super Reload
I completed a full 50 with a team I have had major issues with freezing. I was the only guy of the group to always freeze. Today I did not freeze and we went through with out fail.

I will play more with my secondary gamertag of ThunderCrushR.

If it is the "gamer save file" or "campaign save file" corruption then I will be glad to send you Epic my files to see where it is corrupt and how it may have got corrupt and how to possibly fix it.

Let's Hope we are getting closer!!
If I play with out freezing tomorrow, it will be a very good sign!!

Oh brother, what can we do if it's a corrupt gamer save or campaign file?

I am definitely convince that the problem with the freeze issue lies in the Game Save / Campaign Save File!!

Playing between my to Live accounts there is an overwhelming convincing evidence that the Freeze happens with my older account but I have had no issues what so ever with my newly created account!

How can this be corrected? Not sure, but I at least like to know there is going to be an attempt on the behalf of Epic to look into the matter.

I would be willing to send both my Gamer files from my two accounts to Epic for them to take a further look into this matter!

There is at least a 100 strong about this matter and there is probably 100x more that deal with the issue until it becomes fatal like it did for me!

That must have been my son playing as he did mention something about a freeze
This has happened to me so many times that i have now lost count as have so many others
What is now very worrying is if the game becomes unplayable and i can not play anymore on my Red 64 as what happen to you
I will not go through what you have done as i just dont have the patients and time to play such a broken game and in the bin the game goes

"Freezing" is a BIG PROBLEM, it happens to someone in our daily rooms EVERY day. It started happening about three weeks ago. Me and my friends play Insane Horde, I have around 13,000 waves played and am currently Blue 81 and am a bit frustrated because these freezes usually happen around Wave 49, after 2 to 2 1/2 hours of play! It's very frustrating when the biggest obstacle to putting up a high score is freezing! Not the game!

Since I have the best internet connection, I am usually host which means when I freeze EVERYBODY is booted to the lobby losing all our XP, ribbons and cash. When I freeze I eject my Gears disc so that I am merely booted back to XBL Dashboard and do not have to Force Quit by turning the power off, this I am told, lessens the chance of my rank being reset to White Level 1?

I now back up my Player Stats, Data, Achievements daily to a USB Thumbdrive and Cloud Storage because I am paranoid that I will be reset as it has happened to numerous people and friends that I play with. I used to think that being reset would never happen to me and backed up to USB Thumbdrive and Cloud sporadically. Well about a week ago IT DID. I was at Blue Level 62 playing horde with friends when I froze on Wave 50, so I:

1) Ejected my Gears disc and when I booted it up again I noticed that it was saying I had unlocked old weapon skins from Gears 1 and 2 achievements!

2) I then chose Hard Drive as my Storage Location and sure enough I was White Level 1!

3) So I Quit to XBL Dashboard and booted up Gears choosing Cloud Storage this time hoping that it automatically was syncing my stats somehow, etc. IT WASN'T, it showed me as RED Level 31! The last time I had manually synched Cloud Storage was a month ago.

4) I quit to XBL AGAIN and plugged in my USB Thumbdrive and chose it as my new Storage Location, it had been about a week since I backed to USB drive and I was Blue Level 38 AGAIN!

Long story short, I lost 22 levels of rank, cash, ribbons and medals. It could have been much worse I guess? Now I backup my data EVERY day before I log off for the night and I delete my Player Data File before EVERY Horde match. I haven't froze since I started deleting my Player Data File and am keeping my fingers crossed.

EPIC PLEASE address this problem!

Do you guys & gals honestly think Epic is going to fix this problem. Freezing has been occurring before the first title update was released. Gears of War 3 will soon be 6 months (March 20) into it's product life cycle. If they haven't fixed it in 6 months do you really think they will fix it in the next 6 months. ThunderCrush stop wasting your time and money fixing a problem that is not yours. MS3 will be out soon and most of us even though we love Gears of War 3 will switch to that game. A game in which we won't have to back-up every single day before or after we are finished playing for the day.

This horde freezing really sucks !
I think if it cant be solved then come up with a solution...... How bout whoever freezez just dies "leaves " n is replaced by a box of money? that way he can restart come back n all is good (high score is a problem),
the only way to stay ahead , i guess, is to restart the xbox before every new horde , which sucks balls, or get MARCURSED (come back as mr. phoenix)

So the problem looks to be dated back farther than Late November.
These people listed are some of the top Insane Horde players in the world and have had issues with the freeze which then lead to them having a Reset in Rank dating all the way back to the first part of November.

yesterday was my friend bigdevilking, and once again it happened between horde rounds (when it appears to be loading the fortifications) - after the score for the round but before the timer starts for the next round

Yesterday we played horde for about 8 hours and we never managed to complete 1 game because so many screen freezing

it was immpossible yesterday due to the fact we play for high score, we play on insane, if someone freezes we lose a lot of points and every point count, not only do we lose the points but we usually save about $20,000 each and that is another problem because we need that money in the 40's

it really is amazing how epic designers come up with all these great game ideas and then fail miserably on executing them. maybe they should bring in some outside help from ea or another major game producer. its clear they have no idea how to make games run smooth, or fix simple problems such as freezing and resets. which are problems that have been plaguing their games and only their games for years now. epic swallow your pride and ask for help. your fans are unnecessarly suffering do to your ignorance and negligence.

I'll give epic a break on this as long as they look into it and fix the issue.
there is no way the testers could have found it, they only test like 100,000 score.

This freeze problem was found by insane horde players who play 100's of hours.

I'm not even sure if it effects anyone who is not a insane horde player, and for some insane horde players the freeze issue hasn't hit.
But the only way to fix and eliminate the Freeze issue in Horde if you have it is to create a new account and that is not right!

Another incident:
I play split screen to use my hard mutators on my Freeze account to boost my fortifications on my new account, I only play to wave 9 with all hard muts on insane.
So far I have not froze until now using my old account while boosting,
a friend joined and I froze! I have had friends join before and they have played for 30 minutes but this is the first time it froze and it froze as soon as he got on!

Host: NO (friend was host, he was playing splitscreen)

Host froze end of wave 8, rest of us could return to main menu.
we called all talk via party chat. Host had to eject disc to un-freeze xbox.

(on another topic, when helping to get the zeta acheevo we had problems
with some of us appearing as Marcus, we had all checked & selected who
would be the required character before we even started the game, eventually
after trying for several times we all appeared as Zeta.)

Another Freeze,
I was boosting my fortifications in split screen Horde using new account and my Freeze account.
Everything goes well when it is just me co-op'n online with XBL

as soon as some one joins not one maybe two waves later it will freeze up.

My Red 49 has all my beta guns and gold guns just waisting away, never to see online horde again.
I wish there was a way to move them to my new account?

Is there any way I can do that?

I haven't had any problems freezing thank you god. Just people dippin during the game or lag because of bad host.
