I just got a new ISP a few days ago and since I have, I haven't been able to find any matches on Gears 3. I'll search for a standard match (~8000 people in TDM) on Team Deathmatch, and it will search for a second and say "No suitable matches could be found". I can join friends games but then I will lag so bad its almost impossible to play. Gears is the only game that I've had a problem with not being able to find a match, Battlefield 3 finds a match in no time with literally no lag while in the game, so I don't see why this is a problem. My NAT type is open, and I live in North America, Never modded Gears, xbox is not modded. Can anyone help me please? I really want to play Gears online again so I can play with my friends...

I don't know why you can't find matches in gears 3 if you find on battlefield 3 or other games maybe your are banned form gears... it could be... try to find on gears 2 and see what happens!

I tried searching for a match on my brothers xbox and he found a match in about 30 seconds (It was a bot match) Shortly after I posted this thread, I found a Bot match and that was all I could find...so I highly doubt I'm banned seeing as I never did anything to get banned and since I found a bot match soon after this thread was posted...but what I dont understand is, why can't I find a match with people???

Seems like your ISP's DNS service is way too slow or your ping is obviosly bad when trying to connect to the nearest server.
Call your ISP and let them check your connection. If you can only find bot matches it seems that you have a very bad ping to everyone else and that opens a new match with you as host and bots only.

Maybe you need to port forward your xbox, I have no idea if that will help though.. other than that i don't know sorry.

no thats worst ping..u need < 150 ms ping to nearest server..Call ur ISP and get it fixed..

I just used speedtest.net and got a 9ms ping, but I waited 3.5hours on Saturday before I gave up on getting a versus match.

There's something wrong with servers, after TU3.1 it started to take a lot of time searching match.
I still find match but it jumps a lot of connections, many times it say 3of3 (or 1of1 2of2 etc...)checked.......and then starts again searching.Gears is: 80% connection, 15% luck, 5% other.
Playing as host (gamertag(1) splitscreen) only KOTH QM.
