Why is it that when I do well, I get hated for it?

This never happened to me in CoD (hate that game though) or Fifa, or anything else, but now, playing this game, everytime I am proud of my performance, someone on the enemy team will send me a hateful message. It's really quite disheartening to be honest.

Last two days, I have had thirteen hate messages (bear in mind each was for QUICK match KoTH, where I am playing solo). Just 5 minutes ago, I got a quad gnasher at the beginning of the game, due to the cheeky flank route on Hotel (you know, come up behind them and proceed to enjoy the unwitting targets) and I get a message from one of their team (who quit) - 'worst quad ive ever seen'. Why would you even send this? It's not like I'm putting it in a montage (QUICK MATCH KoTH for heavens sake) and it's not like I humped the floor afterwards either. This is one of the censored ones too...they are much worse and often voiced by rage-induced idiots.

Why do people get so angry when you outplay them?..sure you might get frustrated, but not enough to send pointless hate to justify...whatever it is they are justifying.

I get annoyed, because after a sweaty game (win or lose), I feel like sending a 'gg' message/FR to the people that made that game enjoyable...but before I can manage that, I get hated by people accusing me of having a modded controller, or sponging, or having shiPPy tactics or something even more inventive.

Sometimes spurs me on, but the last one (that I just described) made me not feel like 'doing well'. I play primarily to have fun, and when people insult you for being good, that's something that I don't enjoy.

Anyway, is this the same for everyone? Like I said, it only seems to be this particular game (not even GoW1 or 2 ... though I suppose I'm a better player than I was then).

Does anyone else get this from time to time or even worse, dish this out?

EDIT 1: If this seems 'crybaby' to you...I apologise. It's one of those little things that gets to me, and when it happens, it makes me feel like 'not doing well'. I always quit playing after one of these, 'cause I simply don't feel like playing any more if this is what people think of me

Try not to let the hate mails get to you, if you did great then congratz , most people struggle with multiplayer. I get hate mails about using the sawed-off every now and then, best thing to do is just ignore them and keep having a good time

I love getting hatemail. It tells me that I had a great game and it usually makes me laugh. Sadly, no matter how dominant of a performance I have, I don't get hatemail very often. Maybe it's because I get most of my kills with the Gnasher.

I enjoy getting messages from people that try to act smart or tougher over the game. Some are pretty funny to listen to or read. I killed a guy several times with gnasher, I used a sawed off I picked up, kill him again with it, and get a raging message saying "trash kid using sawed off" I replied, and how many times did I kill you with a gnasher before hand? no reply back from him. lol

Don't be discourgaed by these ejits, i get hate all the time and just find it OH so funny!
In fact i think i have managed to build up a couple of rivalries with some loudmouthed gears players. Me and me guest tend to spend turns smashing the 'hater' until they quit.
In fact there are two that always send us messages but nowdays won't even stay in a full game with us as they get their asses handed to them super super quick!
They also get super pissed when i get above them on the leaderboards, seems to spur them into playing to knock me down again.

I had this strange thing lately:

A dude I played against in Execution Alpha sent me a message "1v1 for fun? "
So I was like, yeah, would be nice. So I joined the game.

I lost the first match with 4-0. Just because that guy ink/lancered me all the time. (The guy claimed to be a top 30 european player and winning money and such)
In all maps he went for the boom shot and such. He was only playing to win obviously. Personally I do not enjoy using boom shot or ink nades in 1v1.
But whatever, I decided to play it his way. Made a few kills and I got like 3 messages with "You only get kills because of your connection." (He was hosting, and I did NOT update him a single time)
I just outsmarted him sometimes, and other times I was just better in a gnasher fight.

I was like "hm, if there are no limits on how to play, if we are only playing to win, sure, I can be nasty"
So we played on Anvil. I was expecting him to go for the power weapons, so I pre-actived my pistol and trigger fingered the **** ()out of him as soon as I saw him running towards the Boom/Torque.

I downed him within no time, and he rage quit, and sent me a message "stop using your modded controller".

I hate these people SO bad. I mean, DON'T ****ing send me a message with "1v1 FOR FUN", if you're going to boast about being pro and act like the COMPLETE opposite.
Still though, silently, I laugh. When people send you hate messages, that's just a confirmation you did well.

Haven't got alot of hate mail recently which is weird because I usually get like 1 a day I actually sent a few though the other day this guy stole two kills from me that he didn't help me on at all I got 100 point assists for both and he just walk up and gnashers them but here's the thing it was kim and I was ramm he basically took the potential 8/10 to 6/10 so I was pretty upset

It's not just you my friend, I get the hate mail and called trash and what not in the game lobby after it ends all the time after a good game. I don't really let it bother me, I try to find some enjoyment in the fact that I outplayed the haters so good that they felt compelled to send me a message telling me to put my lancer down. Honestly, I've never gotten hate messages for simply beating them. I've had to do something that was either cheap or annoying. Last time was because we did a no smoking to the last guy on the enemy team every round until they quit. The time before that was for just hipfire spraying the Retro.

Exactly! No one would talk trash if you were playing the game in same room as them. They know you can't put your hands on them so every one is a tough guy over the Internet/Xbox live.

Bro, I feel ya. People hate it when I do better than them.

I remember one instance we were on Trenches and I got 8/1, while some idiot on my team got 4/10. I called him out on being too arrogant and being a detriment to the team(he was bagging on the other team after we wont the match), and he says "you got 8/1 only because you're a camper." I wasn't camping, I was holding top, basically 6 of my kills that "should have been" mine I let my teammates pick off because I was supporting.

Another instance (but this one was a losing match) was during Cupid's Wingman. A random and I were on the same team, against all bots, so of course we were ahead by quite alot. It was blatantly obvious that we didn't play Wingman a whole lot, though, since we basically split up in the beginning of the match. So here we are, racking up kills, we get to 12 kills and a team comes in to replace bots that had maybe 5~7 kills. Short story: they decimate us. And then after that they rub it in our face that we only had 3 kills to go and we couldn't get them. All this was played on the map escalation, and just going through that one match kind of killed my whole day.

The community is comprised of 3 groups: Teens and Pre-teens who can't handle mature gaming, adults who can't handle mature gaming, and the rest of us, which are a mixture of late-teen/adults who can play with maturity. Most likely you're getting matched with the two former groups. It's hard to weed the immature ones out from the mature community, but when you find that group of friends who enjoy what they do no matter if they win or lose, that's when you really stop bothering to even acknowledge that some hate mail came your way.

The most hate mail seems to come from low Ranked people who don't know how to play the game. They think they can do everything just as well as a Re-Up (Rank is just a number blah blah blah), but even their stats are laughable and shows they don't do crap each match

this is all you need to know OP. as long as your legit in your gameplay as in nothing modded, no kind of glitch causing you to get the kill or conceal yourself or something like that you should be proud that your getting hatemail. that means your doing something right

I call lies! When I kick ass (Which isn't hard with a certain class) I have the whole lobby against me trying to kill me and what not. For the most part anyone that I play with hates me, not because of my language, most of the time I just stay quite and listen anyway, but because of how "annoying" my playstyle is. I can't go a day in FFA without someone, or everyone, hating me.

Sure it's a FFA game but they call out MY positions and then when/if they kill me they act like they got the worlds most satisfying kill in the world and they all laugh about it. Not like it bothers me that much anyway becuase I still end up winning. I actually like the fact that they call out my positions, allows me to sit and wait for the stupids to come running to me.

You shouldn't quit after these messages... instead you should accept these messages and (figuratively speaking) put them on your wall of accomplishments. Why? It simply means that you pissed someone off and they don't like the idea of someone doing better than them or getting the drop on them. When ever I get one of these messages I just smile because I know I ruin someone's day. Even though they say that you "did bad" but you did good anyway or if you get done winning a match and the opposing team says "you suck" just know that that is them admitting that YOU did better than THEM.

Honestly when it comes to messages like "Worst Quad Ever" I would say "Oh well, at least you were a part of it. " OR even better "Yeah, I agree. Worst Four Players Ever." Insult the insulter and troll them but just don't resort to flaming or cussing. Cussing is usually a sign of irritation, never want to show that.
