TDM tieout?

Hi, played a match of ranked TDM and there was 3 players on the enemy side and 2 on mine. When it timed out it went to 0-0 time and the round still kept on going, no round was won by the enemy untill me and my team mate killed the 3 enemies. Why did it do this, normally the team with more players left gets the win, odd as two game later we timed out another game and it gave the win to the team with more players left.
