    Default Custom swappable armorpieces

    Dear community,

For our game, Chronoshift, we wanted to use an RPG like system, where you can collect armor pieces. Therefore we need to be able to swap those.

I figured we need the armorpieces separate, and sockets for every piece.

Anyone got any idea how to do this?

There's several ways you can do this. One is the Modular Pawn method found on the UDN.
Another would be to simply spawn and attach actors to the sockets, though this is a bit performance intensive. If you'll only be doing it for the player character(s) or not that many characters at once, it will be fine.
Another would be to make all the parts components of your pawn, however, this would probably turn into a logicistical nightmare.

I know there are others ways, but I can't quite recall them off the top of my head.

Please don't send me private messages asking how to use UDK unless it has to do with my work, everything I can teach is already out there.

I am not support, I am here to learn myself.

I'll check out the modular pawn again. Thanks Graylord.

Attaching the actors to sockets sounds very easy so that wouldn't be a problem
