    Default parenting in matinee

So basically I want to know if UDK allows parenting in matinee. For example, I have two models, one being a lift with the other being a rotating cutter. I want to be able to move the lift up and down with the cutter staying attached. Furthermore, I want to have the cutter rotate interdependently on it's local coordinates, all the while following the lift. So the lift would be the parent, the cutter would be the child.

I'm going to control all of this with kismat. Basically my end result would be something like "Q" makes the lift move up, "E" makes the lift move down, "R" turns the cutter on and off.

I know how to control matinee sequences with kismat and I know how to setup animations. The only thing I'm unsure of is the parenting issue. I tried a few things out without any luck. If someone knows the answer, I will purchase you a chipotle burrito if we are to ever meet in person.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong location. I figured since I was using kismat, this could fit under the programming section.

Just "hard" attach the cutter to the lift. There is a attachment section in the mesh actor, set the lift or lifts bone as "base". If u need to do this dynamically there is also a kismet action for it. Basically your "parenting" is the "Base" of a actor.

Ah nice. Didn't think that would work with a mover. Mr. Pandy, if you are ever in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, let me know. I will surely purchase a chipotle burrito for you.

Make sure your "rotating cutter" is a dynamic mesh actor.
