EGF Weapon Skin Ideas. Color Manipulation of Existing Skins [update: May 26, 2012]

A forum generated weapon skin pack. what do you say epic? 800msp?

or some form of free dlc which would allow players to unlock weapon skins for various medals.

The assumption here is that for awhile now we have been seeing recolors of prior skins, and that may be all we will see going forward. Mission Impossible is a recolor of the Digital Camo. Chocolate is a recolor of Tribal, and all the Re-Ups are recolors of prior skins.

Supposedly the recolors were done by recoding existing graphics to change the color pallet. The asuumption is also that Epic started doing this as a way to continue to offer weapon skins without causing memory cache issues. Alot of assumptions there, granted.

So bombers is taking the existing graphics of the weapon skins, and letting his and the forums imagination run wild. End result some really nice stuff. I agree it would be nice to see some entirely new weapon skins ( Childs Play ( renamed of course) or the See-Through Digital, but we know they are in "limbo" for various reasons) such as the Rusted weapons that were on this forum. However anything that requires a new graphics set will require a forced DLC such as what was done in the Booster so that all game users can see them on the screen. These pallet swaps, however can probably be done within a TU.

Are you kidding me? Although some of them look nice these are nothing more than re-colors of already possible owned weapon skins. Captain McTasty posted an actual neat looking sort of gun skins. Some of these skins look nice but like I said re-coloring of old skins is not cool or awesome & definately shouldn't be with any paid DLC. But hey it's all opinion by the way the "BlueBerry" skin is detailed and easy to look at.

Good ideas. I have some too but can't make them because I suck at image editing. One is where it looks as though the gun is covered in newspaper print and one where it looks lke it's covered in dollars.
