    First post. New to UDK.
    Good tutorial.
    Can i use the game launcher.dll . Does it require any credit or license?
    If u have made this custom launcher then u must also have made a custom installer for packaging the launcher and the dll. Could u post a tutorial on this or are there any good tutorials already out there.
    Also I would also would have liked to know how to get a list of supported resolutions and graphic capabilities of the user's system but that would have given too much away in a tutorial.

    Hi chimera201...Thanks for the comment
    You can use this Game Launcher.dll for free. License is: Free-For-All ...I would appreciate if you credit me like: "Satheesh (a.k.a RyanJon2040)" but its your call .

    For the list of supported resolutions i think its possible. I'll see if i can do it when i get home and i'll post here.

    Hi, I think this tutorial might be a good fit for inclusion on UDK.me (see link below). You'd receive a linkback to your channel and a place in our recommended videos and gallery. The caveat is I'd have to re host it on our channel. Would you be interested?

    Your video is now featured and linked back to your channel. I also enhanced the audio to improve the clarity and volume. Thanks for your work

    Just a question, how would I get the custom resolution from the drop down menu into the ini file? (since I can only enter in an x res on one line and a y res on the other not both at the same time), eg: 800x600 would be:
    ResX=800
    ResY=600

    how would I split the numbers up from the drop down box? so that say 1600x900 from the drop down box would be:
    ResX=1600
    ResY=900

    ?

    Amazing tutorials man, helped me a lot. I have a problem though, how would I go about adding this to the installer with UDKFrontend?

    Thanks again

    maybe u have to use some custom installer like this one http://www.advancedinstaller.com/
    btw, the point i'm replying is that u can get n set the resolution inside the game in the newer builds of udk
    http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/...1#post30634461

    don't forget to write these to save to ini
    ConsoleCommand("SCALE SET ResX " $ CurrentGameResolution.X);
    ConsoleCommand("SCALE SET ResY " $ CurrentGameResolution.Y);

    Thanks chimera201, I was thinking of that as a final resort, but it may actually be better to build with a custom installer. Thanks again

    Sorry for the late reply. See this post: http://unrealxeditor.wordpress.com/2...uncher-update/

    I have added an update which lists all supported resolutions of your screen in a dropdownlist. This will also give Screen Width and Screen Height separately so its easy to update UDK ini file.

    Hello, I have followed your tutorials but I would like to know how to update the game download and install updates a day. It's been 3 days that I'm looking on the net unanswered.
    thank you

    thank you
    If i were to do this i would do something like this:

    1. When launcher starts i'll make it to check if a newer version is available (eg: Compare launcher version)
    2. If a newer version is available then it will prompt the player to update and then disable the play button
    3. When user updates, it will download all the necessary files from the net to a temp folder
    4. After the download finishes, launcher will exit and runs a new app with a Marquee progressbar (Its job is to copy all the files and folders from temp to game folder)
    5. Once the copying finishes it will run the launcher again.

    Thanks for this great tutorial.

    I've also got the available resolutions list to work, but now when I open the settings window again the list reverts to the first value and not the one that was saved although the value does get saved to the INI file.

    Nevertheless, everything else works fine.
