What does someone's character tell you about their personality?

It seems people who play a certain way, or people with certain personalities, play as certain characters. May it be a COG or Locust Character.

Gears of War 3 introduces DOZENS of new characters, allowing people to choose over many different personalities of characters. From my analysis, here is what I found:

(IMPORTANT NOTE: This is NOT to discriminate ANYONE. This is just the majority of average players. I have owned, and have been owned by all of the possible characters in Gears 3. Apologies to anyone offended.)

I use Classic Marcus and Grenadier

COG Characters:
Marcus - Noob, or a player who joined a Quick Match, pissed because he wants his default character.
Dom - No one uses Dom. :/
Cole - The second you go down, he's right there to tbag you, then punch you in the face ten times.
Baird - Technical player, utilizes use of all weapons
Anya - Sawed Off HOAR.
Sam - See above. But instead, will wallbounce with the Sawed Off instead of Rush
Unarmored Marcus - Little kid half the time.
Clayton Carmine - Usually a little kid. Other times just someone who goes 0 and 10+.
Benjamin Carmine - Varies. I see Ben players go neutral. (Same kills, same deaths). Weilds Sawed Off and Retro
Anthony Carmine - Proud vet of Gears of War 1 and Rank 75, always hogging the sniper
Classic Marcus - Picks him because no one else uses him
Classic Dom - strafers. and damn good at them
Classic Cole - See "Cole"
Classic Baird - Good players
Commando Dom - Always goes in first. Hard to hit, so wallbounces and strafes alot. Gets killed by frags everytime though.
Mechanic Baird - Always has snipe or torque. Misses half the time
Adam Fenix - I find Adams to hog frags. I dont see him too much
Civilian Anya - A wallbouncer, who uses her because she is so hard to hit.
Barrick - Aggressive players. Often seen going in first, or Retro charging.
Kim - Professional Gears of War player
Valera - Usually an advanced player.
Tai - little kid. but I usually don't see him too often.
Griffin - Gangsta straight outta Compton, Iced-T fan, or common American white male.
Jace - rarely seen, but a support player who does his dues.
Superstar Cole - Gloating player who trash talks.
Cole Train - "I played the Beta!!"
Bernie - kills you 3 times in a row
Hoffman - thinks he's the leader. Rushes in first.
Prescott - Plays this game too much. Usually good player
COG Gear - Noob
Onyx Guard - that annoying power weapon hogger who gets killed in every 1 on 1 situation. Usually kills you from behind
Dizzy - He's all over the place. Bad, and good players use him.
Golden Gear - 1500 points. All damage points.

Locust Soldiers
Drone - Joined a QM and is forced to be the drone
Sniper - Hogs the snipe, but knows how to use the shotty
RAAM - noob
Grenadier/Elite - Shotty 2 your body
Kantus - Has a power pistol (boltok usually), and a grenade hog. ironically, never revives you
Theron/Sentinel/Elite/Savage - FIFO
Savage Drone - Tries to use his Gnasher, just hasnt gotten it down yet
Savage Grenadier - Gnasher Master
Savage Grenadier Elite - Shops at Wal-Mart
Golden Miner - 10 and 0
Queen Myrah - Sawed Off SOB
Beast Rider - Average player, often grabs boltoks and frags
Spotter - Indeed spots, and downs with his assault rifle of choice

Hahaha yes. I play as Anthony and that is exactly why I play as him. Omg Griffin.. that is so right. Every time I play with someone who uses Superstar Cole or Griffin.. its exactly that; trash talking 'gangstas' lol

Savage theron guard is my favourite locust but for some reason therons in multiplayer are often seen as being pretty noobish. That all changes when I join a server, though...

I did this for awhile then I returned to my roots classic Baird/A Carmine. And I haven't looked back. I played as A Carmine when I first got gears 1 but then my friend started using him and my other friends would use Hoffman and Kim so I decided I should stick with Baird. I play as them to kind of remember the past when my really close friends in real life played Gears(they only played Gears 1 when 2 came out and pretty much stopped now due to Gears 1 having close to no good players left). For my medal I only use Myrrah so i'll eventually get it though.

I always think caped players are noobs because in gow1 there capes took damage. I will never use a caped character again. When I first played gears I was a chainsawing Raam user like many others who are just starting off.

Golden Hunter is my locust. It tells people I use every weapon and I use them well. Gold Gnasher with onyx medal let's everyone know my shotguns skills are serious. I tend to use anything but Gnasher as much as possible, and I only take it out if I really need it.

I use Griffin not for the OP's thoughts, but for the fact he is such a sh!t talker that is makes me funny. I mean come on. "I LOVE Killing these MFers!" haha.

I also use Hoffman, as I have since Gears 1, and I use Prescott, because sometimes he is a sarcastic douche. haha

Locust, I use Theron's because well, They are bad ass, and I use Kantus as well cause again, bad ass.

Little Kids are you Kidding me ? Tai Kaliso is my Favorite Character in GOW3 . one of the reasons i use him is because he is a Native warrior like my ancestors. but i also love to play with Dominic Santiago since GOW1 , because he is not a punk ***** like Baird , or Anthony C.

BTW I am level 149 with a K/D of 2.0 heheh

I use Hoffman and have been using Hoffman since gears 1 because I think he is a total boss. Also, he kicks a** still for an old man. For Locust, I use Savage Grenadier just because his mask makes him look like some crazed maniac that just escaped the locust asylum (if there is one.) Hoffman also has funny lines. Most of your things are true, except I disagree with Baird. Everytime I see a Baird, he is a crazy wallbouncer that always uses the Gnasher. Especially in gears 2 since he made little to no noise while running and rolling around. Your Superstar Cole description is perfect.

Anytime I see someone playing as Superstar Cole or Big Rig Dizzy I automatically think 'douchebag'. If you're a helping teammate who just likes/finds these characters funny then sorry, can't help it.

I switch through all cog skins because their is no definitive one that I just adore but I tend to go for the more armored skins though which doesn't explain why I hate Onyx Guard LoL

Drone: Someone who has just joined a quick match. I've never ever EVER seen someone have this guy as their default character
Grenadier Elite: People who enjoy the game and like the armor feel as they're fighting
Savage Drone: Low ranks who're just happy to be apart of the game.
Savage Grenadier: The one who always seems to kill you with a pistol...
Myrrah: Boys who want the medal... I've even seen girl who refuse to play as her.
Golden Miner: Either booster or people who earned it these guys are good players, But always in a clan and will tbag you till your back is no more.
Golden Hunter: " As above "
Sniper: People who have Onyx Headshot, and just want to show off their mad skills. Will rage at you if you take the sniper away from him.
Kantus: I've seen few people play as this one, maybe because you have to revive people to earn it... Hmm... Wonder why that is. *hint*
Savage Theron Guard: For people who like the trench coats. They seem to be good and bad at the same time.
Miner: The real medic.... I'm serious. They will be there when you need them most... Or on the other side of the map...
Beast Rider: People who play TF2 And just want a hat...
Hunter: The one who runs around with a sawn-off and camps around corners. Has no skill in a real gun fight other then hit and run.
Theron Guard: The one with the onyx evil incarnate medal
Spotter: The 1337 guy who wants to stand out so he uses a character no one plays
Flame Grenadier: Either a arsonist IRL or Someone who likes the helmet. I've never seen someone play as this guy
Grenadier: The name says it all... They <3 Grenades
Hunter Elite: Same as grenadier but they also love thier Gnasher.

I know I missed the DLC but they're overused.

I mainly use Tai, but occasionally switch to any of the classic characters. I'm neither a little kid, nor have I played Gears 1 or 2, so I've sort of proved your stereotypes wrong xD

Tai's my favourite character out of all the games, despite that i've not played Gears 2, though i've read up on it and watched videos. I might buy it too, just for the sake of playing it. I can borrow Gears 1 off a friend.

But Myrrah....I hate Myrrah with a passion and almost everyone who uses her.
Also, if I rage, I tend to refer to the Myrrah player or other players who use female characters as "Her" or "She", despite the fact that 95% of the time, it'll be a male.

Dom - No one uses Dom. :/
Classic Marcus, Dom, Cole, Baird - All four classic skins usually indicate a long time Gears player. decent to good player. Uses Hamemrbust

you got me ive been playing 2 and a half years and am always classic dom when on cog and use hammy. Dom in this game looks dreadful imo he no longer wears his unique style of armour and has a beard. unique armour was a big part of doms charachter and the beard dosnt suit him at all.

I use Bernie but go under the A. Carmine stereotype lol. People hate her voice but i don't mind it and she has deadly dreads and is a hardcore sniper in the books which is why I play as her (also why I somewhat rage when someone takes the sniper but I am not the douche that stands in his way using my chainsaw, I just QQ a little bit and pull out my gnasher)

Locust is Savage Kantus just cause I love the model and no one used before.. now with fenix rising and everyone uses him (and before anyone says it's a dif colour stfu they switched it from brown to a reddish brown so it's impossible to tell in-game almost) so i'm in the middle of switching to something no one uses.. Usually savage Drone but he holds the sniper awkwardly and you lose some vision
