I was only about 3 away from getting the gold sapper medal today and I destroyed about 4 grenades. After the game I checked to see how many more I needed and it was still the same. I remembered that I destroyed all of them with smokes and figured that using smokes do not count towards the medal but I did them from far ranges and thought is must be that they just didn't blow them up. I tried again from close range this time and clearly saw it blow up. I then left the game to check and it was still the same. So apparently to earn Sapper, we need to shoot the grenades and not just destroy them for them to count. I will test this in a private match tomorrow to be sure. I would try to make an arguement about how this should be changed but I don't even need one it is simply common sense. Has anyone else notices this?
Edit: I tested this in a private match in today and I can confirm my arguement. After shooting two smokes it gave me the message that I only. Need one more to get the gold medal for Sapper. I then used a smoke to blow one up the grenades and I didn't get the medal. I tested all of these with planted smoke grenades so shooting them will count towards the Medal.
Epic please fix this. it is bad enough that we have to wait for other people to plant them but now we have to even shoot them which is never easy when it has a tiny hitbox.
