New Gears Toys Meccano

Meccano are going to be releasing some new Gears of War toys based towards kids coming soon. This may be the first glimpse of stuff from Toy Fair 12 about Gears stuff.

The Meccano is aimed at 8 year old kids and the game is an 18+... yeah, that really makes sense, it's almost as stupid as Halo Mega Blocks!

Well Halo has a lower certificate (15-16 depending on the game itself), but even then it is nowhere near as extreme when compared to Gears, and Halo appeals to kids easily as simply spacemen fighting aliens, which has been a child concept for years now. I see kids all the time buying the Halo figures and Megabloks as simple 'army men' toys, not because they've played the games. With Gears however I've never seen a kid buy anything related to it presumably because it's more human looking than bright, slick sci-fi that Halo appears to be.

Having all the extreme content turned off makes gears way more kid friendly. Granted it's violence, but it aint swearing, gibbing violence, so from that standpoint it has a kid potential of around 12 years olds I'd say.
I don't see them catching on too much tbh. I haven't seen mechano for years and I actually thought they'd finished making/selling stuff until this thread. The only way I'd buy them myself is if they looked extremely game accurate, and were roughly scaled to the NECA figures, but seeing as how this is mechano, I find this exceptionally slim to happen, so the whole line is a pass.

Guess that means more money for NECA Gears figures... Once they sort out the line and promote it/communicate better. After series 2, it looks like the whole line dissappears off the side of a cliff

Want them all and cant make to see the huge Diorama and with stuff like this been made and thinking about getting a release that has got to mean more games.

NECA just responded to me and said that the Gears 3 Series 3 will be announced at Toy Fair 2/12/12 if not sooner:
