That seems to be the stance Epic has decided to take. No matter how much you plead/question or back sash Epic they don't officially reply. They won't even consider Stickying Theivus Sisko's Rank Reset prevention thread??? It's like something out of a bad movie.

Epic's Mentality (We mustn't acknowledge this as an official problem in any official capacity!) Yet they say they have been working on it for over 5 years...

Not at all unfortunately. I'll tell you whats rare though, an official reply from Epic. It was a long while ago when someone made mention of rank resets and potential fixes/preventions? Was it back in January this year right before Fenix Rising when this issue was last addressed?

Happening more frequently now because the game freeze is running rampant playing insane horde.Ridiculous,3 out of 5 matches freezing up.Not a chance in hell getting a score,only if your lucky and the timings right,better luck playing poker....

If what you mean is that: You want your flaming weapon skins from the beta (plus coletrain and Golden retro lancer) - then yes you should be able to get codes from them via calling xbox.support.

I havent done it myself since I havent lost my beta unlocks, but if you can call them and prove you played in the beta and do not have the gun skins then you should be able to get codes for them.

THAT SAID, Epic still need to provide us Flaming Retro Lancer skins and Golden Lancer and HammerBurst skin codes as well. You earn them from playing in the first week of when Gears 3 was released. Since I have been rank reset, I have lost those skins I earnt.

griffin unlock from facebook from the beggining but didnt re-download (with my fresh install) it
with the rest of my content as it had unlocked thru playing hoard rounds and seemed pointless.

i had been idling in xbl party/game lobby for about 1hour waiting for a clan match to end/slot to
open, when it did, i played 1 match, noticed when waiting for the next match to start it was
taking too long, was still in xbl party but the game and my xbox had locked up/froze and
was unresponsive to the controller or power button, could not eject the disc as i had bought a
2nd copy of the game recently (games on demand dlc) and had no choice but to pull the plug and
reboot (about the 4th time that day, it used to happen to me about once a day pre fenix
rising)...
only this time i was rank 1 and got minimal unlocks for campaign completion i think(no medal tho), my title/medal remained in placeholder (military advisor), along with my flaming shotty skins from the beta (i guess cos they were equiped as there now locked), also missing cole train(from beta which has since been deleted)/ribbons/medal progress (old guard/beta tester also). as for the rest of my stats...gone...except the glitched # of rank disconnects, from when the game was 1st released is still there, aswell as my campaign collectables (not reflected on website as unlocked/collected) and my highscores are still inplace on leaderboards(ingame, cant bear to look just yet)...

history of account: played since 20th sept, didnt play for 70'odd days this year,during which
time gold had expired and was renewed, and purchased gow3 from games on demand so id never be without it and for the past 11 days i have been VERY ACTIVE!!

i did notice when getting the dlc content (fresh install/no saves/no updates) that i wasnt
allowed to play on dedicated servers or recieve "forces of nature" via season pass for 23 hours
despite already having the booster pack installed reciving prompts to buy "forces of nature" for
800msp or reciving a standard marketplace error code (maybe unrelated idk).

the rank loss doesnt bother me as much as the loss of beta unlocked content does along with the
1st weeks unlockables and the thought of not being able to complete seriously 3.0 as i have
unlocks that are now locked again and my data seems to be mismatched.

still a die-hard fan and wood like to know this IS being resolved for us all, including the countless gears who didnt bother to submit a report...

edit: after this post/the 3rd reeboot since reset about (24 hours later), i gained some more unlocks, my gears2 stuff unlocked and gold skin from playing beta, still no beta tester, no cole train or flaming skins unlock tho...

It happened when I turn my xbox and started playing when I press the start button in the main screen It began to pop up some items you get by achiving things like the beta cole train, the ghost protocol skin, the flaming gnasher and othe stuff so I return to my dashboard and tried to delete my profile from my hard drive and dowload it again and start the game again I did this because it has worked two times before, I repeat deleting and downloading my profile waiting for 2 days I saw it wasn´t working so I start playing again, this has happened several times, it never happened to me on gow 2, I thing is really unffair I have spent so much time, effort and money, I was about to quit the game but I hope the staff of epic can give me some solution or at least a response or some bonus xp I deserve my re up and my ribbons I almost had them all except for 7 ribbons to get the achievement and the onyx medals I lost I started playing today I´m level 12 I´m afraid of playing again because every time I advance 50 levels or re up it happens I don´t know if it is on purpouse but you should apologize to all the comunity and have more respect for us cause we don´t use the horizon thing and try to buy the dlc´s sooner as posible and repair the damage in some way I expect your reponse thanks for your attention Epic staff

This is my second time getting reset on gears of war 3, i once was lvl 55 first Re-Up then 2 weeks ago i lost my rank and today after having leveled up to 46 i got reset again after logging back on today, I think my issue is when i go to play gears of war while not being connected to xbox live. I think that's what happened the first time alsoI didn't adress the issue the first time though, thinking there was no solution. If possible i would like my first rank back. I invested a lot of hours in your 3 products and i would like some support for being loyal to your game for 6 years, i never hacked nor glitched and iit would be common sense to help your customers.

Xbox did not respond for 5 minutes (not even the Guide button); when it is started lots of notifications popped in Gears3 (unlocks for playing Gears1 & 2), and when proceeded to the next screen all was gone. Reset to 1. I hope it can be fixed; all medals, ribbons, and worst of all achievement progress (especially the Socialite achievement) is gone.

I do not know, I have no idea, my brother had the same problem but he regained his level erasing and re-download your profile, we try to do the same but did not lead me, then I went to the website of GOW3 to check if they were still saved all my medals and badges, and had nothing, please try to fix it, or tell me I can do.

I'm sorry for asking this but is there any real point to this thread? Hundreds of people have posted about losing thier data and no one has posted anything about possibilities of getting it back. The only thing I've seen is a couple of suggestions about what to do to prevent this from happening again, ie cloud or stick saving your data. It's nice there are was to prevent this from happening again, and thank you to those who've suggested those solutions, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, no one from Epic has said anything about getting our data back. They have million dollar servers and I have a cheap desktop. Someone who knows what they are doing can recover anything I've done on my computer at any time and yet my stats cannot be reset to the day I lost them? It may be more complicated than I'm thinking, but it seems that if they can go in and manually reset you for violations that they should be able to reset you if their is a glitch in the game. If anyone knows anything about a potential fix, please post. Thank you.

We were playing horde, trying to get the all 50 waves in one sitting ribbon when it froze for the second time. (first time was on wave 47) so it froze, we turned the xbox off and on, both signed back in, and when i hit start to get to the menu it lagged for a second and then gave me all my unlocks from the beta/dlc and then i was rank one. by the looks of the thread on here i'm not the first and it seems like epic isn't going to help me get it back. i'm mostly pissed at having 70/82 achievements and there's no way in hell i'm going to get ALL the medals (only needed like 15 more), try to find someone playing as kim to get that stupid foreshadowing achievement (was at 7/10), get the re-up achievements. if the only help they have is posting on this forum then this is kinda ****ed. not everyone wants to sign up for a message board for help on your product. also, can i get my $100 back for the limited edition and season pass?

just got to level 90 the night before, turned the xbox on, the start screen took longer to load as usual, whilst it was loading, the weapon skins that i unlocked appeared on the bottom right of the screen, then the menu came up showing i am at level 1, with no medals and ribbons, i have tried deleting my profile and re installing it, it hasn't worked my gamer tag is doyle rules 21, i will no longer be touching gears 3 till this issue is resolved.

Holy ****, just got reset to rank 1 an hour ago but I've got my rank back again.

I stopped playing Gears about 2 hours ago and unplugged my internetcable from my Xbox (I only have 1 cable in this room) without shutting it off and went back to the dashboard, and went online on my PC. I wanted to check something about my stats and went on the Xbox again (without plugging in an internetcable). As I started Gears 3 I immediatly noticed I didn't have to select my storage-device and it started unlocking all my weapon skins at the main menu. And there it was, a rank white level 1.

The first I could think of was to reconnect to the servers without saving my then-current level 1 so I shut off my Xbox without connecting to the servers, plugged in the internetcable and went back on Gears. And thank God, there was my level red 78 again. I didn't back up my files so I'm pretty happy now that it wasn't permanent.

Phew.... I feel like I dodged a bullet there

I was idle boosting wingman matches in a private match with bots filled in insane. I was away from my xbox for a couple hours. When I came back it was shut off. My xbox has never over heated or shut itself off before.

What I find interesting is that I kow of 6 other people who lost rank and/or medals in the two days period that it happened to me. The two days being Tuesday and Wednesday. All of my stats are legit except for some idle boosting, only in my wingman matches. I do not mod, cheat, or glitch in any way.

So for no apparent reason I have lost about 20,000 kills and over 1,000 hours of my time invested. If it weren't for my friends on Gears 3 I would have taken a crap on this disc and mailed it back to Epic. My biggest concern is, will I ever be able to get the 30 events now???

In your own words, please describe what happened prior to your rank being reset. The game froze as the points was being counted up and we could not do anything like go to the home screen no buttons worked so we turned off the xbox and turned it back on and when it finished loading up i was at level 1. Now this happen to another profile that was on my system before but when we turned off the xbox and reloaded his stats came back so I repeatedly tried to turn on and off the box to see if it would work for me but 2 days later I'm at level 7 instead of 39 (40 by now) green!

On April 21.
My brother had played with his friend black ops zombies in co-op. Hi thinks that his friend was logined as Guest.
After his friend left he put Gears of war 3 dvd in xbox. Second controler was still logined.
Then at the screen where you must press start the game freezes at loading profile.

1. thing I have done was clear cache, but it didn't help.
2. thinh I have downloaded my acc to owerwrite the current one. It didn't help.
3. I went here to see if someone else had this problem.
I have found that some people deleted player data and when they run the game it worked. And some get reset.
Then I have moved current Player Data to usb stick and start the game. It worked but I got stat reset.
Then I moved Player Data from usb to Hard drive to replace the reseted one.
Then I remebered that Gears have war yournal and I went there to see what lvl I'm. It is lvl 1

I guess that after i moved Player Data from hard drive to usb and then started the game and I chose to save on hard drive.
Then game did pull my stats from server or make new ones?
Either way it's lvl 1 without ribbons, medals. And now I think that this stats are stored on server.
I stil have player data which are before this had happend but I think they are corrupted.
Because game freezes after I press start button to play.

I was playing in a party with 4 friends via Xbox live the matches were laggish after we had completed a round of 3 matches they had to leave and I went to the main menu then turned off my xbox because I had to go to work early the next day. I came home from work turned on my xbox booted up Gears of War 3 and all of a sudden I noticed my level had been reset to one and a friend of mine who's level was 99 was reset to 1 but was put back to 99.

I was really bewildered as to how I was level 29 then 1.

I was on xbox dashboard, then went to my friend party, he send me an invite to play gears of war 3 and I accepted his invite. While it was loading on the start of the the gears screen, it took around 10 seconds for it to go to lobby. Then all of the sudden all my weapon skins started so show on the right bottom of my screen and I found it weird because it had never done it before (Only time it had done it was when I just the the game brand new). After that I notice that it said that i was a 1 ranked and it took me to my friends game. After that happen i told my friend and he told me to restart my xbox, but i was still a 1 rank.
