The reason they were merged was to make more room for other gametypes. I'd want them separated, but it must be done, at least for now, so that new gametypes like Zeta can be tested.

OP, it is a shame and a kick to the face of veteran Gears that WZ and Exe are combined. On paper, the game types are shockingly close, but in practice, they are played much differently.

It fuses a playlist together, so that combines the players, adding faster matchmaking times, so I like it. To me, that games play similarly in some ways, and in a minority, play differen ways.
But taking in to the fact that I was never a hardcore Execution (or Warzone) player, then my opinion is void anyway.

These 2 gametypes were the lowest played before they were merged. Bot had low player counts and had extremely long matchmaking times. They're pretty much the same gametype besides "execution rules", so I say keep 'em merged.

Care to explain why they have low player counts? Like maybe they are placed under a playlist that was in the beta so now everyone is used to it... etc.

All it does is cause players to join matches, then leave instantly, over and over until it gives them their matchtype of choice. Then players like me who end up in the right room of choice feel locked into the room because we will have to either join games repeatedly to get the game of choice we want, or hope a friend is in our room of choice to hop in.

I feel really bad for ranked warzone players who probably get execution voted on repeatedly.

YES. But until then, I'll be just fine in Zeta. I might just wind up playing that until Epic decides to get rid of it or change it. The ONLY downside to playing Zeta for me is lack of weapon skins because Epic SOMEHOW can't get them to work in it. But that's just a small price to pay for the perfect gametype.

The sad reality of this is; execution is barely effected by this. It's all the warzone players who should be annoyed. I've played probably a total of anywhere between 5-10 games of warzone (ranked only) since this patch.
