ACL Gears of War 3 Online Round 1 Announced - Australian Tournament

Here at ACL we are proud to announce something very special - Gears 3 has been added officially to our 2012 Pro Circuit !! This means that ACL staff will be dedicated to running both online competitions and live events for the Gears community. This support will see GOW 3 players side by side with the biggest competitive titles in the world at ACL events, sharing time on the main stage and a full quality production live stream.

To celebrate, our Gears of War 3 Admin Midnite has organised the first Gears Online Round of 2012! February will play host to an awesome free to play tournament with some sweet prizes including $400 cash. Midnite has been fortunate enough to secure some special guest commentators to cast some of the matches over the weekend. VeroProDiGY, a MLG Gears Coach and Falloutt, a former Gears 1/2 Pro Player, will join us for the tournament.

You should check out http://www.cybergamer.com.au/forums/xbox360/gow/ and possibly sign up and look for a team. We've got loads of free agents around and with a bit of practice could definitely get somewhere!

We've now got 18 teams signed up, good to see a few new players on the list. I'd love it if we could break 24 teams so if you're still thinking about it please give it a go. Its going to be a really good comp!

40 teams signed up, amazing for a first tournament. I know European GoW used to be happy to get 25 teams in their first few tournaments, now they're getting 50+ consistently in each tourney. Hope to see the same type of growth in the AU community. Is there potential for that Midnite?

There is definitely huge potential to grow the community. This is the first major tournament we've had and having ACL pick it up for their 2012 circuit is a HUGE deal and I'm really hoping that we see an influx of teams getting involved after they see this tournament.

Found out about this to late to compete (doubt I would be good enough anyway) but I will definately check out the live stream. I'm surprised (pleasantly) so many teams signed up. Really hope we can maintain the momentum down under!
