Hey there Challenger! I understand you are having some issues getting this achievement to unlock. Just to confirm, the first time you tried to earn this, were you and one of the other players on the same console playing split screen? I did some research online and this seems to be a consistent factor here.
For general achievement steps, you can try clearing your console cache. Also, if you have any offline achievements earned, please connect back to LIVE first, and then try downloading your profile once any offline achievements show up.
I would also suggest checking out Epic's forum regarding this. I found a decent thread (forums.epicgames.com/.../page12) that might be of some help to you. They have some more steps to suggest, and it does sound like they've been in contact with a dev (Flak?) and will hopefully hear back from them. Please let me know what you find out, thanks!

That's weird I got the mutator but not the achievement, but I followed the steps that xbox live had suggested about 30 minutes ago and now I don't have the friendly fire mutator.

Yessss,,,,,,Finally got the achievement, now I can return to normal operations, this drama had me resort to a last ditch effort. I applied the following instructions someone had suggested a while back, initially I didn't want to do after waiting several months without an anwer decided to give it a try. This is all I did, after reading a suggestion from cbrinkman:
NOTE: before you do this, make an extra backup copy of your gamertag, Gears of War 3 campaign data and Gears of War 3 player save data to a SECOND memory card or USB portable hard drive just in case. (you can now use the cloud for this). If the guide does not work for you, try clearing your cache. That seems to fix it.
1. Go offline by removing your internet connection from your XBox.
2. Sign in on the dashboard (offline)
3. "Move" (not copy) your Gears of War 3 player data and Campaign data to a memory card or usb portable hard drive.
4. "Move" (not copy) your gamertag to the same memory card or usb portable hard drive. It'll say you need to sign-out first before you can move your gamertag. Go ahead and confirm this when it prompts you.
5. Sign in on the dashboard (offline) with your gamertag from the same memory card or usb portable hard drive that you transferred your data to and start the Gears of War 3 game.
6. When you see the first Epic logo appear when starting up your Gears of War 3 game, physically remove the memory card or usb portable hard drive from your Xbox and ignore the message that appears about placing the unit back in.
7. Press start on your controller and go to your stats/awards. If you check your Achievements and Campaign Collectables, they should be empty.
8. Plug-in your memory card or usb portable hard drive back into your Xbox. When you do this, wait a few seconds and it should automatically take you back to the Gears 3 logo where it tells you to press start (but don't actually press start on your controller). Instead exit back to the dashboard.
9. "Move" (not copy) your updated/modified Gears of War 3 player data and your gamertag from your memory card or usb portable hard drive back to your Xbox 360 hard drive but DO NOT MOVE OR COPY your Campaign data back to your hard drive.
10. Remove your memory card or usb portable hard drive from your XBox 360.
11. Sign back in with your gamertag and start up Gears of War 3 (offline) and check to see if your campaign collectibles are gone. If you did the steps correctly, they should be gone.
12. Now you can connect or go back online with your Xbox 360, sign in with your gamertag and start up your Gears of War 3 game.
You should now be able to acquire all of the medals, achievements, avatars and weapon skins you weren't able to acquire when you were reset.
Even though you will still have your achievements that you've earned listed in the game, the game will think you don't have any achievements.
So you'll frequently see an achievement progression bar pop-up for all achievements while playing. This will go away after you actually got the achievement again.
This method will allow everyone who has been reset to acquire the crimson weapon skins, all 3 of the avatar awards, all of the medals including "for the horde" now and everything else as well.
You will have to re-acquire all of the collectibles in the campaign/arcade mode and you'll also need to complete campaign/arcade on hardcore in order to play it on insane.

I'm glad that you got it, but I'd like to see a fix from Epic because knowing me and my luck, I'll accidentally remove all of my data or something. I shouldn't have to resort to doing all of that for this issue anyways. Epic should fix it.
I agree, that's why I waited but I needed to press on, the good news is I didn't loose rank, onyx medal progress and or characters. Bad news is that I spent hours on a Weekend playing through the campaign for the 6th time.

I completely agree with you chozo, why the hell would i risk my save file with all my progress towards 3.0 when im sure this is something that can be patched in an update.For me this is the only real problem with an otherwise amazing game.Can we get a fix please and thank you?
I refuse to play around with save files etc when it's a problem with the game. Patch it quick!

I just PMed 4 mods who work for Epic Games. After waiting almost 64 days, as a fan I'm starting to feel like I'm being slapped in the face when it comes to customer support.

Umm there is a thread involving an issue like this. I believe it is in the BACKUP YOUR DATA thread and there is a sub title which explains some solutions to achievements not unlocking.

Bumping this for Pete to see since I was in his GoW3 stream earlier.
I've recently come across a friend who has this issue and found that he is clearly not the only one so I have been looking into it.
Now I'm pretty sure he has played through the whole game in arcade only, co-op, with 4 players. I'm just wondering if this achievement discerns between Arcade mode over XBL and Standard locally.
In fact, I have checked the profiles of the people he played through with on 4-player arcade, and NONE of them have this achievement - But they all have We Happy Few, which I helped them get last night and it did fire for them when they completed their last 4-player chapter.
This achievement unlocked for me when I played through the entire game first time, standard campaign local split-screen with my girlfriend. Can't remember but I think we kept it private so no-one interfered with cut/story scenes. Has anyone having this issue tried that? Use casual and an idle controller if you need to - but there will be a few points where you will need someone to manipulate the second controller on occassion (like when you dodge the train in Act 5).
Let us know if this works or I'm suggesting something that's already been thought of. Cheers.

Well, according to Cafu Santos on Xbox Live, he says that if you manage to unlock the "Help From My Friends" Achievement, you are unable to unlock "We Few... We Happy Few". He says that he's played Co-Op with multiple people trying to get his glitched Achievement and he noticed that the people who didn't have "Help From My Friends" were able to unlock it without a problem. Perhaps there is a connection?

I unlocked Help From My Friends on 30/01/2012. I unlocked "We Few, We Happy Few..." last night 27/02/2012.
I had no issues with either achievement. Except last night I had four chapters to complete and the the achievement fired after we did only three of them.
If I launch a campaign arcade or standard game I have only two little man icons next to Act 4 Chapter 3 - All the rest in all acts have four.
Last night I hosted 4 people on 4-player arcade and I had to complete (on 4-player co-op):
Act 3, Ch 5.
Act 3, Ch 6.
Act 4, Ch 1.
Act 4, Ch 3.
I noted after completing Act 3, Ch 6 the little red-bar came up at the bottom indicating I had completed 30 credits toward the 31 chapters to be completed for the achievement - Which I thought was odd as I had two more chapters to complete.
We just continued and finished Act 4, Ch 1 and indeed the achievement fired. We didn't even bother with Act 4, Ch 3.
Is there any way to completely reset your War Journal or Campaign progress in this game? That's the only way I can think of to resolve the issue unless it gets patched.
If everything is credited for campaign progress the only thing I can imagine that caused the issue is that someone, whilst hosting quit to menu before the Chapter progression was fully saved on both server and client. I played almost all my online campaign games hosting and never ever quit to menu until the next Chapter had started.

i just don't understand how this can be that hard to program into a TU... our profiles clearly show each individual chapter and act being completed, it must be rudimentary to add a check in the loading screen for this.

Everyone go ask him why he doesn't care about the community enough to reply to this thread. I've PMed Cher, Quinn, Pete, and Troy. Cher was the only one to reply, and he/she was the only one decent enough to do so at all. However, this person told me that I would have to contact the other three if I wanted answers because technical issues were not in this person's department. So if anybody can give me the Twitter accounts for Quinn and Troy, that would be nice. They don't seem to care about their actual community on their own website. Twitter is more important I guess.
