Looking at that article in Forbes I doubt there's a date at the moment:

Epic’s at its best when it’s creating shooters, and this game – even with so little revealed – looks like a fresh take on what we’ve seen from past Epic franchises. There’s survival horror, shooter action and strategy all rolled into one gameplay experience. The final game’s direction will likely depend on what publisher signs on to bring FORTnITE to life. As much as the studio is teasing the new game to its gaming audience, it’s also showing it to publishers.

The idea is to put the teaser trailer out there and see what interest comes from the game publishers. Depending on which publisher steps in, that could ultimately change the scope of the project. But Epic does have a clear idea of where it’s going with this new franchise, which is one of five games the studio is currently developing according to Epic Games President Mike Capps.

I can only hope that this game isn't released in a Barrage of other releases, just for the simple fact that I wouldn't have to juggle it with other releases...

I think 2013 is much more likely. Epic pretty much finished Gears 3 in April before it was pushed back, so we can assume much of the team split off shortly after then to work on Fortnite. So if it's a full game with a 2+ yr development and not an XBLA game, 2013 sounds about right. Maybe even on the next-gen Xbox and Wii U.

idk but this game doesnt look as promising as i thought. this is looking like an ok game but the only game that you can compare this too in my opinion is RAGE i dont like borderlands because i just dont but i dont know if it will be like that

Heh, it would be pretty cool if you could find a Lancer instead of say, a regular chainsaw at the department store. xD

Too bad it's been confirmed as a pc only.. Went from a must have to may never play... I have nothing against pc games, but having a family, trying to build a gaming rig, buying games for consoles, and the continuous $5 here and there for content games have gone from entertainment to money pits.

Don't expect a beta before the summer. It's really quit on the Fortnite front plus Epic just had the release of Judgment

Don't forget that the next gen Xbox hasn't been announced. I can almost guarantee this game will release on the next gen Xbox. There no reason why it shouldn't, and it would make a killer launch title.
