New Gears Game Idea

Not a terrible thought. Maybe with cooler, better weaponry before it was all destroyed after Emergence day.

Maybe, but an idea I had got good feedback.

Give it two campaigns: COG vs. UIR and Locust vs. Lambent. It would fill in all the missing info from both sides. We could finally connect with the locust in a way not possible before. Have a locust general and his squad fight the lambent, abduct Adam and share their perspective on things. For continuity's sake, we'll say this locust squad die in the hollow during the LMO.

Yes, but prequels aren't really that new, lol. They happened before Reach came out, just so you know. I've always thought this idea would be pretty cool.

though I like the idea, I don't really think I would really enjoy it, as you would only get to kill humans. And the locust are really essential to me the fact that there are so few locusts in gears 3(not that many types contrarily to gears2 was quite of a downer for me though I really like gears 3. I think that a game about the E-day would be more entertaining. And it would end with the failed attempt at saving Adam Fenix. That could be cool.

Another Idea of mine was a game with different campaigns from the point of view of the cog both gears and onyx guards, locust lambent and stranded and may be the uir.
the game would be about the events before and after Jacintho was sunk.
I had a few ideas about that, like adding some kind of progression for the locusts at least, from drone to theron.

Exactly. A Pendulum Wars game would have to be an entirely new trilogy, and I don't think it wouldn't fit well with the established theme of the franchise.

I like the idea of a Pendulum Wars game, but im not all for the idea of character customization, i like the characters Epic creates, i would like a new squad of hero's though.

but in the pendulum wars its human vs human and all retro lancers they didnt make the chainsaw untill after e-day.

Nah, its human vs. human which makes it too much like other games. The locust define gears 3 and i couldn't say i would be excited for a pendulum era game. I would much rather see E-day games, or other prequels of the style, or a game based on the books set in between the established game trilogy.

I had an idea after playing RAAM's Shadow that I kinda liked the idea of a flashback type game. Set the game somewhere between 2 and 3, that way you get to use Delta Squad as your basis. Throw Bernie in there as well. Each Act is primarily seen through the eyes of one character, and the first chapter starts in the present, with Delta Squad going after some objective or another. At the end of a short first chapter, something catches the player one characters eye that makes them flash back to some event in the past, where you relive that event. After reliving that event, you return to the present and take up the next character. Kinda like a mix of the Gears of War books and Halo ODST.

I liked the idea how RAAM's Shadow fleshed out Jace a bit, brought back Kim and fleshed him out, brought back Tai, didn't really flesh him out too much, but it was cool, and introduced two new characters to the games. I know Barrick isn't actually new to the universe, but he is new to the games. Anyone going by just the games, and that should be seen as a possibility by the people writing the story, have no idea who Barrick is. You would be able to use Marcus, Dom, Baird, Cole and Bernie, together during part of the game, and each flashback could be used to explore their characters some. Maybe find out why Baird is such a jerk. You could use it as a way to introduce new characters if you wanted as well. Explore the life of Maria and Dom after E-Day.

I don't think any game like this should be named Gears of War 4. Follow the Assassins Creed scheme, where they had 1, 2, and since every one since 2 used Ezio as the protagonist, it had a subtitle. Brotherhood and Revelations. I know Gears of War: Memories might sound cheesy, but it would be better than Gears of War 4.

Just some ideas I had. I really got the feeling that 5 different stories with a small bridge linking them together could make a decent game after playing the DLC yesterday. Like a book of short stories instead of a novel, or the movie Four Rooms.
