Default Petition get a Playlist REQUIRES a Mic. (Or at least an event)

I realize that a lot of people prefer to be in party chat with their friends, as do I most of the time; but if I don't have anyone to play with, I'd like a playlist that requires a mic to be plugged in, and to be in game chat. I guess the game modes would cycle TDM/Execution/KOTH. We should at least get a weekend event to try it out. It'd be a great place to meet fellow players and a great way to encourage teamwork. What do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure they can't force people to use a mic.

Hmm. maybe i worded this wrong. They could at least force them to be in game chat though. that way, even if they didnt have a mic, they could hear teammates through their TV.

Most of the time I don't use a mic, as I'm there to play the match, not chat.

Having a playlist that require mics would turn people off as not everyone has a mic and no one wants to hear voice chat thru their tv.

I am totally behind this idea, I hate going in to a match and no one has a mic/talking!

No because it would split up the player base more. People shouldn't be forced to buy a mic to be able to participate in certain playlists. Also, what guarantees anybody that would have a mic and enter this playlist, even want to talk and chat out tactics to begin with? A mic doesn't ensure that.

I dont get why people have such aproblem with this. All your "No" awnsers seem to be backed up by a question that could simply be awnsered by not playing that game type. Its a good idea, if you can read you relise he saids a SEPERATE playlist not make all the normal ones mic only. It would be a playlist where people who actually WANTED to talk about whats going on and actually talk would play. For all you nay-sayers who say no due to you not wanting you be forced to buy a mic or talk i simply say "I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries." grow up an allow the people who like the comunity factor of the xbox play with others who feel the same.

Gears is a team game, gears 1 was awesome cause everyone talked and communicated, now since party chat has been introduced it has harmed online play IMO,

I don't see how creating a playlist for people who want to communicate is a bad thing? You can talk tactics and watch each others 6's!

It's a no brainer from me, cod does it why can't gears?

I worded it wrong. not necessarily have to have a mic, but to be in game chat, so they can hear the teamates thru the TV.

That's fine. There are less trolls than there are people who play without mics or in party chat.

mics are not needed to play gears. all that is needed is a gnasher and legs. the only time i hear people talk is when they are raging, talking about random ****, or some 10 yr old talking with an annoying voice. i mute a lot of people so i dont have to hear the sound of their voice.

    who cares what CoD does.

I see this is a split issue, but many would rather play with no mics. The only time I use a mic is when someone asks if I have one, otherwise I don't.

No go, I don't want to try and communicate with randoms, and get verbally put down. I play Gears with one or two friends, and that does the job for me

They could remove party chat, CoD did it. It wasn't that great in CoD haha but it would be perfect for Gears.

Even that is still a no from me. There's just no need for a playlist like that in gears of war 3. I see no problem with the way it is now. If people want to stay in party chat with their friends while playing the game, let them. You can always get together a group of your own friends in a party if you want a communicating team.

And yet nothing guarantees that every single person who would enter this playlist with a mic, would actually talk or even listen to the other players. Telling people not to enter the playlist if they don't want to use the mic doesn't stop that from happening.

Sorry, think this is a non-starter. So many people play Gears in parties (I'm one of them) and wouldn't want this. On previous COD games (not bought last couple) we just didn't play the gametypes where party chat wasn't allowed.

Wouldn't bother me if this happened but I don't think enough people would play it to make it worthwhile. If I'm wrong and the majority of players went over to it, when playing alone I'd join and simply mute my mic and other players if it was the only way I could get a game. Just being honest.

Would you not be better off trying to add people from the forum to your friends, thus ensuring you've usually got people to play tactically with?

If you can't differentiate between 'your' and 'you're' then reconsider posting. Similarly, 'moot' and 'mute', 'its' and 'it's', 'were' and 'we're'. And Pacific is an ocean; the word you want is specific.

This idea won't work. All ppl will do is plug in their mics and set them down.
