can some one tell me how xp works???

i come top with most kills in ranked team deathmatch and my freind is getting more xp than me and i dont know why PLEASE HELP

Were you stealing kills? Were you doing executions (longer the better)? Did you get any headshots? Of course there are a lot of other factors I'm sure.

a lot of the times you get the most points from kills+downs.. but some of the times you get a lot points for just shooting at some one even if some one else downs or gets the kill for it. Team work makes a difference rather then just running around with a gnasher or SO trying to sneak up on people ( :
