I'm trying to change the settings in my light from LightShadow_Modulate to LightShadow_ModulateBetter. However it keeps going back to LightShadow_Modulate, when I click on LightShadow_ModulateBetter. Anyone know why this is?

happens to me too. somehow I thought ModulateBetter was intentionally broken because it'd soon get deprecated or something... even if it doesn't make much sense to deprecate a "higher quality" setting

How far back does this bug go? Seems to be in the Sept 2011 & Aug 2011 releases as well.
Is there a workaround?

well now in UDK November not only is LightShadow_ModulateBetter broken, I can't even put LightShadow_Modulate, it goes back to LightShadow_Normal too!

Yea I would like to know as well, the shadows going through the wall is really unprofessional looking and disabling the shadows for things against the wall is even more unprofessional looking.
