    This is remake of old mod for UT. Read Assassins(Org)-Readme for more details...

    Assassins is a UT death match mod (much like Assassins for Quake 2) where you are an assassin. Each player has one specific target at any given time. Players are given a target that they must then hunt down and exterminate. No one else is to be killed, that is except, whoever may be hunting you.

    How the hell did almost nobody comment on that?
    I loved the Assassin gametype for UT2004! Downloading.
    A huge fan of the entire Unreal franchise and Bulletstorm.

    All the Gametype config options would have to be eliminated for the PS3. Ps3 doesn't support GT config at all. In order to to get it to work the "config" stuff would have to be completely taken out. default values would have to be hard coded into the gametype.uc file and compiled into a .u file and that file cooked for the PS3. With permission i could make an attempt?
    Please support the UT3 community both on the PC and PS3.

    Yeah, there was a UT2004 version too.
    I'll dig it out for you, it even contained a vAssassin gametype which could be played on ONS maps.

    nice job, fun and refreshing my UT3
    i tryed to install the mutator on our DM Server, votable via UTCompIIv4b2 but after installation and multiple reboot trys the gamemode still doesnt appear in the votable list(f5)...
    + main problem is that it crashed my UT3 when trying to join the server:
    *crash player game when voting the gametype via admin console but i was abble to join after the crash (lol but not under my name because that multiple login s**t) , so i was abble to play under "player527" vs my "uncleblitz" ghost facing/walking a wall +.+
    *from that point it crashed my UT3 each time i tryed to rejoin the server

    servers infos in my sig
    anyway thx for sharing, keep up the nice work

    edit: i backed up the server to its original DM settings and i was abble to rejoin with no probs, reswitched to assassin and got same crash while trying to join...so no doubts the ass gametype crash player s UT3 while joining the server,the server itself survive and seem to handle it...but as u cant join...lol... i run dodgejump & utcompIIIv4b2...compatibility problems?
    i let the server running the gametype the whole day if u want to give it a try (Assassins, KBarge, dodgejump & utcompIIIv4b2)

    another UT3 weirdness...tonite all is working perfectly, played assassins on 3 different maps vs bots on the server with no problems...+.+

    Three things:

    - Add a different menu image for the gametype selection. Right now it uses the one from Deathmatch.
    - Add a beacon to your prey or make them stand out in some other way. Right now you have to constantly read the player names, which is rather annoying...
    - Use the "Assassin"-announcement from Betrayal (or killing a Titan), it seems rather fitting here. xD

    1. No problem, but this is Deathmatch-like gameplay - i've thought that was not necessarily...
    2. Beacon..? Will be too easy - maybe for Normal or Easy game mode...

    For one day work this is pretty impressive. My suggestions aimed at making the mod perfect.

    About the beacon (or something else that makes your target stand out). It wouldn't make it easier, just less annoying. Right now you have to constantly read player names, which distracts you too much from the actual gameplay. The beacon would be just a help for identifying your target. Like in Betrayal, there you have to hunt players with a red beacon and hide from players with a green beacon, while your teammates are colored blue. It doesn't make the fight easier, you just don't have to focus on the player names.

    @TourianTourist: No offence, but gameplay is based on memorising play mates - with something like beacon there is no point to play because you will never miss your Target (and become Looney...). If you really need need this, you can use wallhack - i'm pretty sure that on multi every one is using this noobish hack stuff. In this days not many true players left... Sad...

    As for other suggestions, next week i will update this mod.

    WTF? Wallhack? What are you talking about? I guess you're misunderstanding what I meant with "beacon". It's more like a tag above the head of your target. Nothing you can see through walls. Just using colored names would be fine.

    I already said it should work like in Betrayal. Have you played Betrayal? It's part of the Titan Pack. There every player has a "beacon" / "tag" above their head showing their score. Players with a red score are your targets, players with a green score are hunting you and should be avoided. These tags are line of sight only, you can't see them through walls. Nothing of this is "noobish hack stuff" or cheating. (Thanks for insulting me, just because I suggested a feature from an OFFICIAL gametype, which shares similarities to yours. Seriously... -.-)

    Without these tags it's too confusing, which makes your gametype less enjoyable. A lot actually, I wouldn't want to keep playing it if I had to focus on tiny player names all the time.

    @TourianTourist: With this attitude you will gain nothing... Besides you're only one here who want this "beacon" - make a poll to see if others share your opinion. I think, this will kill gameplay - but this is me... Anyways, if majority will approve that idea i will update this mod.

So I downloaded your gametype and played it for a while. I thought it was hard to focus on who is who. If you only use default skins for performance reasons it's even harder to distinguish your enemies.     If you have problem with "Who is Who" then how you playing in TeamGames?
    In Unreal Tournament this is easy, since every teammate has the same color as you. Shoot everything with a different color. If you're in the red team, fight the blue guys. Simple as that. I don't have to remember that "Worg" or "Kana" are part of the opposing team, I just shoot the enemy color.

    There is no such indication in Assassins, there everyone looks the same and you have to focus on the player names, which is really annoying in a fast game like UT. You could just give your target a red skin, would be as good as the overlay/tag/beacon idea.

    Again with "beacon" I don't mean a radar that constantly tells you your targets position, it's just something that helps you distinguishing your target from the other five Demo Guys running around. Like an arrow above his head. So, a red skin would be as good, if this is easier for you to make.

    Ah, you meant POLL. Originally you said "pool" (with two Os) as in get enough people here in this thread to support me, which would be impossible.... And no, I won't do this. I've already done enough by downloading your mod, testing it thoroughly and making some suggestions to help you. If you don't like them, don't implement them, it's your mod. I'm done here.

    Again you just keep insulting me for trying to help you. I wasn't crying, YOU asked for suggestions, so I thought I could check your little mod out and help. I was just trying to help. Im sorry, but I doubt you have fully read or even understood, what I was trying to suggest. And if you're deaf to suggestions, then don't ask for any.     New 2.20 version with map support (CTF, VCTF, WAR) and basic vehicle support for AI - will be fixed in the next version.
