Lightbulb Question/suggestion regarding "checking match quality"

I am curious what metrics are being used to check match quality. A quick guess is that it is an average across 3-5 ping tests. Does anyone know or is epic willing share what metrics are used.

I ask because I experience a range of match quality, some are laggy and others are great. (I recognize I may be overly sensitive to latency.) Anyhow, this leads to the degenerate gameplay behaviour of connect, see if it is any good, if yes stay, if no quit and try again. (You have probably deduced that I have stopped playing ranked matches since this manual match check strategy will not work).

So my suggestion is would it be possible expose and make configurable a max ping (or other metrics) we want to use to find a match (advanced settings or something). I am more than happy to wait longer to find a match that will be better quality. I would also love to return to ranked matches if I knew I wouldn't have to slog through a laggy match.

    If it helps:
I am located in Vancouver, Canada. I have maintained regular speedtest.net checks of my connection. Average ping is usually 20-25 from me to Vancouver's city center. Down 20-25Mbps, Up varies 1-3Mbps.

    Thoughts anyone?

Doesn't anyone have any thoughts on this?
