Player leaving no assist points

Now this most likely has a reasonable explanation and any light into my question will be welcomed. I was playing Warzone earlier, on Overpass, I was at the top with my trusty hammerburst when I downed someone at the bottom of the stairs, as soon as his body hit the floor he left the game so as not to be killed. Of course someone stole my kill, whats even worse was I was not awarded the +100 assist points as I was the only player who damaged him. This happened to anyone else?

Ah I see.
Well, that's a very interesting event.
If it's Warzone, you'd think a leaving player wouldn't be replaced. However, you should have gotten assist points.

It's a similar situation when you kill the last bot in a round. It will say the last enemy suicide, since the bot was taken over by a human player after death.
