Why is Baird ugly now?

We female gamers have it hard enough with most games having too many scantly clad female characters. Gears was a glorious break from that with lots of eye candy, but Epic really blew it with Baird for GOW3. What the hell? He's the only character to get a makeover 2/3 of the way through the franchise (except Dom, but his personality changes too). Anyone else disturbed by this change?

Gears did have some lovely eye candy, especially gears 3. Biceps galore >:3

Yeah I noticed it too. His face structure changed as well. I preferred the old, classic Baird with his bleach blonde hair XD

I guess there are a lot of people on the Forum that don't think Baird looks ugly because he is the one Exclusive Character that everyone seems to be looking for....including myself. I guess in the end everyone has their likes and dislikes about certain characters (people).

He isn't very exclusive seeing as he's unlocked from the start. I like Damon, and I use Classic Baird most of the time in GoW3. This topic is about his updated looks in comparison to how he looked in previous GoW games.

I meant Mechanic Baird....not the Gears of War 3 Baird or the Classic Baird.
But yeah, I personally think he looks great in Gears of War 3....he looked really messed up in Gears of War. (my opinion)

To me I think Hoffman got the biggest upgrade, then Cole and then Baird. If they kept him the way he looked in GOW2 then he wouldnt really look right in the campaign IMO

my opinion about characters is... the biggest change was cole... he was like a ****ing ball of muscles and now hes to slim... what hapenned to him??? thats not possible, and his skin color is like opaque than gow2 ... now dom, I preffer dom better than all the others gow, to me he was like a nerd ballsacker of marcus... but now his a baddass ;D and baird, to me his the same dumbass that he always have been

I expected some aging, maybe a few grays, but its a whole new face. Cole changed too, but he still looks enough like Cole that you could recognize him without a GOW logo or other ID. Dom and Marcus have a good "getting old and stressed" vibe.

The only thing I hate about Baird's new look is that he looks more ripped than he did in the first 2 games. He was more normal sized in 1 and 2. A blond genius is one thing, but a blond ripped genius? WTF?

That they did on purpose, sane with Dom. But I have no idea why they botched Baird up so badly. I looked real close at him and they totally redid his nose and chin.

Yeah... they smoothed everybody's skin out for Gears 3. I mean, Marcus and Baird have a little five o' clock shadow now, but Baird's acne scarring is gone and he looks undeniably different. I still can't decide if the difference in his face is for better or worse, but back in Gears 1-2 he definitely looked more like a long-time soldier.

I think all that time in the sun only improved everybody's complexion. That, or Delta squad found some alovera. :/

Hm. In a short I wrote, I referenced a "Deadlands Day-spa". This....seems canon, now. :P
