How many of you that are experiencing the frozen profile issue played Gears 3 before downloading the title update? The title update is the prompt that appears after launching Gears 3 while connected to Xbox live.

I downloaded the update before ever playing Gears 3

Try it both times without and with happen when its loading a public match

Nope. The title update was the first thing that popped up so I downloaded it. However, when I cleaned my system cache for the first time I had to download it again. I originally cleaned the cache to see if it would fix my freezing problem at the first enemy wave at Shipwreck; which I guess it did because it hasn't frozen there since.

I played the entire hardcore campaign before getting the update. After the update tried to play splitscreen and then I became "Frozen".

I played splitscreen the night it came out, and we, then the update appeared Thu and Thu night the game froze on splitscreen campaign. Not been able to play a single day thereafter. Hope it helps?

I played just the dreem sequence with no update, than I downloaded it to play in system link. Playing campaign (insane) it froze in act 1 chapter 3

I downloaded the update because I wanted to check prices to renew my Gold suscription to Xbox Live. I played a little more of the campaign solo, and the freezing happened. Happens with my Xbox live profile, online or not. And with a profile that doesn't have Xbox live at all, just created for the purpose of finishing the campaign. Too bad both freeze while searching the rotor in Act 4 chap 4

Played Horde splitscreen and Ethernet. Then updated and had freezing problems.

Does someone know the date the title update came down? I know when I started playing Gears of War 3, but I can't remember if I downloaded the title update before or after that date. If I know the date the TU came down, I'll be able to answer the poll correctly.

The first time i played GoW 3 was with the update then the next day i had to switch from my xbox to my brothers and play offline(he never got the update btw)

I downloaded the patch first, and then played afterwards. Only got to play for six days.

Well I can tell you that I got the game at the midnight release on the 20th of September and the update was already available when I got home to play.

I don't have live... The only update I had was as soon as I put it in the drive, let that install, then installed it to my hdd, and it froze the next day..

thanks for that information.. we didn't get it until the day after launch so now I know I never played it before the TU.

I know that I had to download the update first; I got the game a little less than a week after it came out.

I got the game at midnight, installed the update that pops up right away before I started the campaign. My brother and I played 50 waves of horde columbus weekend and I have discovered no issues thus far, however, I had an update available last night that I dl'ed...is the freezing problem due to the patch that nerfe the SOS and the weapon spawns?

I received my copy of Gears one day before release day, I'm always connected to Live so if the title update was available at that time, then my answer would be 'No'

I haven't noticed any difference in the freezing issue with or without TU1, so we've only played without it...

we played the game the first week, i'm sure we added the update on the friday nyte, from then on it all went to pieces, hope this info helps rykard i think i pretty much covered the rest in my other posts.

Pretty sure I did, as long as the update was before Sep. 29 (This is the date when my xbox froze). B/c I always download updates that appears on my xbox.

uh is there a difference in title update and regular updates? dont get online very often. Havent had a "title" update since beta, i did get a update, when i went online once..not sure if its the same thing.

I did not play before downloading the title update. What the hell is wrong with this? What's the actual problem and how is it fixed? I'm sorry but I payed £40 for this game and I can't play it, yet I can play any other game perfectly fine. This is unacceptable.

I played the gears 3 campaign from start to finish in splitscreen the day of its release in Australia (20/09/11). I then continued to play other modes such as beast, horde and online multiplayer in splitscreen until my profile broke a week later on Tuesday (27/09/11) while playing the campaign splitscreen with a mate.

The update was ready by the time my bro and I first put the disk in... Played through the entire hardcore campaign and a dozen matches online before there was an issue. My bro is the frozen one, bottom screen in campaign and MP

The update was on the release date, right? Or was it a different one. We got prompted for an update on Tuesday

I played the Gears 3 campaign with a friend, split-screen and offline, before downloading the title update. No freezing problems, no issues at all. When we once again tried to play the game split-screen offline last night, my profile made the console freeze. There were no problems for him playing the game alone, when my profile were not online.

quite a few of us have been having the same issue mate.the good news is Epic seem to have developed a fix,and we are just waiting for the update to sort it out.
