They don't need the next Xbox to make games with UE4

They don't but lots of developers will want ue4 to support the new Xbox And Evan if indie developers could publish to current or new Xbox there game may not pass the tcr checks

The reason I ask is that UE4 will need Dix 11 to run all the nice rendering techniques, currently XBox 360 is Dix9 and PS3 has there own chip which they are dropping for the PS4 and using Dix 11
No I merely heard/read/picked up that the releasedate for Fortnite was in 2013, Fortnite being UE4 = UE4 Released. I don't speculate in consoles except perhaps on the business perspective.

"heard/read/picked up" - Nudge nudge, wink wink, blind as a bat, know what I mean, spill the beans

I love the Unreal editor but I really don't want to bake shadows any more so I can not wait to get my hands on UE4. If it runs through a web browser then that's even better.

I very much doubt Microsoft will let Sony use their OS on PS4, you'll see OpenGL on PS4 no doubts.
    Got UnrealScript skills?

Can anyone tell me why Epic pulled out of web browser technology? Is there a statement on this anywhere so i can back up my research paper.

At a guess I have put this.....When Adobe decided to drop support for flash on Andriod, Epic decided not to put any more development into web browser technology.

I can not see any news to prove otherwise? - This in the eyes of research means it's defuct, non existant. I need proof so I can back up what I am researching or the argument falls flat on its face.

I found this but it does not hold much weight.

Browser-based games get real 3D graphics with latest Unreal Engine and Flash technology

ue3 runs on android without flash, you create an apk file to install on your device. it has nothing to do with flash in any way.

and you can see here the supported devices/formats that are available to full licence holders.

    and here

aaand now the UE3 licensees get Windows RT support and it looks like we're left out again as UDK licensees.

It's not even out yet, so I wouldn't worry about it. I'm pretty sure they didn't even really do anything special to make it run, sounds like they're using pretty much the same version as regular Windows.

It said in the blog its out now for ue3 owners
As for flash you. Need Cygwin and alchemy and jdk1.7.0 to package cooked assets to a Swf file
Let's hope ue4 will be able to run on any platform

Thank you, more great info for my research paper, so it look likes UT4-udk (if and when it comes out) might have 3D web based tech inside of it?

So now the question, what browsers will support it? From what take from the link Internet Explorer will work but what about Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome?

They will try to get all browsers to work you can install flash on most browsers and when HTML 5 becomes standees that will be the same everywhere
But you could port ue3 to any platform the core modular are non platform specific like zlib , d3drv and alaudio then you write your own pclaunch-demogame or whatever platform you want
Also since actorx is not used anymore why dont you give people the source in udk

This has absolutely nothing to do with HTML5. (Nor do you "code" HTML5, it's not a programming language)
