Why? RAAM is my favorite character, and I enjoy writing for him. Not saying I'll never write a story not about RAAM, but what would the purpose be of not writing RAAM stories if I enjoy it and have a good reception for it?

Sorry man, didn't mean for it to be taken as confrontational or defensive, was just inquiring. I'm working on my piece for this month right now, we shall see whether or not RAAM makes an appearance.

I'm the exact same way with Dizzy, if you or no one else has noticed.

Anyway, don't know if I'll get around to this. Lot of my plate, after all. However, this might be a nice pallet cleanser.

Mine's already finished, just having two friends, one who is the editor for a quarterly writing journal, proofread it for me. Just watch, it's still gonna have mistakes and I'm gonna be SO MAD.

If you can, go ahead and extend it. Make it the best and longest story you've ever made if you can. After all, you have an entire month. No need to rush.

So make it longer. For perspective, I regularly write 10,000 word chapters for the fic I'm currently writing.

Stick to one story... trust me, I was like you, wanting to scratch an itch every other week. Its not pleasant. Its better if you have one main story and the rest be nothing more than shorts. That way, you can always come back later and revisit the time-line/characters of a short and turn it into a full-fledged fiction. Where as starting multiple stories with no end result is going to get you nowhere.

You and Dragon are really all who's interested in monthly challenges, I believe. Jonesy and Jay have their own stories to work on and I don't know that Boss writes often enough or quickly enough to participate. RaKais is usually AFK and Rusti said she's getting married so she gets a free pass. Grub's working on his own story, as well, and Wiz doesn't ever come around here.

I think you may be the winner. And this might just be the last Monthly Assignment, really. There's just not enough interest.

That's really incredibly disappointing. I think we should do one next week, and start trying to spread awareness that if there are no more entries next month, that there will be no more contest. That, or make a rule that if there are under three entries there is no prize. That way if someone (me) enters, we can still get graded and help our writing improve, but Epic isn't giving away free stuff for no purpose.

I'm honestly surprised Skorge didn't submit anything, I thought he would. I wish other people would write for it, it has SO much potential for fun and competitive spirit, but no one takes advantage

The problem is the low amount of writers in the world as well as the even narrower interest in Gears of War. Finding someone who enjoys Gears of War -and- writes well is pretty rare. Which is why there's not many people here. No one looks under the hood of the game's cover with those musclehead OOOHRAAAH CHAINSAW! RAWR!

I hate people like that. OH GEARS IS JUST FUELED BY ROIDS AND GRAPHIC VIOLENCE. It's a better story than Halo, in my opinion. And I LOVED Halo's campaign.

I took part twice and you just go ahead and ignore a x2 winner for that n00b, Wis. This is how I'm going to be treated, well fine, I won't take part! And to think I would have written one for June.

Sitting back and watching as been entertaining, to say the least. As soon as I saw the Month Topic way back when, I was tapped out. "Impalement" like seriously? The only way that could go well was that it was going to involve RAAM and I didn't want to be so mainstream seeing what I learned from the "Respite" month. I hope the new topic is more diverse, Nis.

I'd say no, because default is kind of cheating in a way. You haven't really competed to earn anything, you know? Maybe you'll win next month, though.
