I might do my Christmas story, copped out of doing it last year.
Though fair warning, it may be cartoony.
A Christmas story?
I'll do it..... muahahaha!
Ah sh*t, I actually won. Not going to lie, I expected you to tear into that bad-boy and rip its insides out. Hell, thats what I would have done... anyway, do I just send you a new topic or something? How does this work?
didn't even realise that anything had been posted - slaps hand - wow what happened to December wasn't I supposed to be writing something... who am I again.
Hello Rusty, my how I've missed your muffins.
Lol, anyways I guess this is where we discuss posted stories? If so then I'll talk about SKORGELINA's Holiday themed story.
Personally, I thought it was an impressively told tale, with a vivid, gritty, descriptive flair. I kinda liked the fact that we knew very little about the protagonist, that he was something like the unknown soldier or man with no name (ok, so that's despite the fact that he actually had a name ), kinda like an old school Hollywood style character.
Strangely it shares a motif with the thing I was doing, which kinda sucks since everyone will now think I stole SKORGELINA's idea.
Though it was bleak, it had a bittersweet ending, that happy sad thing, which somehow felt appropriate. And overall I thought it was a very enjoyable offering, so well done SKORGE.
Think I'll read Seran Spartan's one too, haven't read anything new in quite some time.
Aw, cmon, Boss, SKORGE's ego is big enough! I did like Seran's. Definitely recommend giving him some love.
And yeah, read Seran's, thought it was pretty solid overall if a little stilted in places. Like when the UIR sniper sits down and says, "Hey, I'm in the UIR... " It just seems like an odd thing to say, and wouldn't Nichol's have known that anyway?
It actually reminded of a WWI story too, where apparently (don't know if it's true or not, but I think it is ) the British and German troops had a ceasefire on Christmas day and actually exchanged gifts? But anyways, overall it was a good idea and fairly well written so Seran Spartan should definitely try to keep writing, you improve so much by just writing and writing. Like Stephen King says, "Writers write, and people who aren't writers, just don't."
I have an idea for the next topic now, thanks to Boss. I'll throw it in with the other suggestions at the end of the month, so work hard to be the one who chooses! Going to switch a few things up for February :P
I enjoyed doing SURVIVORS that was a fun albeit random storytelling. I also think poor Bonnie carried Johnny most of the way and he goes and gets himself killed.
Ah Boss, I've been busy cupcaking, making mince pie cupcakes for christmas so the cakey goodness still lives on.
Hmmmm E-Day, now to come up with ideas that aren't conventional.
Wow, things move fast here now, feels... different.
Yes Sarge, Kirsten is very much alive, which is just fine cause... KIRSTEN RAWKS!
Funny thing about "BEAST" SKORGE, I couldn't resist adding in extraneous characters and side plots which caused delays. I have no idea why I do that, but I've noticed I do it a lot.
WARRIOR doesn't have a cast of thousands or an elaborate, overcomplicated plot. It's short and punchy, which means it should be pretty easy to write... I guess?
And yeah Rusty, SURVIVORS was vicarious fun, with some great storytelling in places too. Will you be doing something for this months assignment? Maybe even something, unconventional?
Has Jay ever done one of these things? Jonesy? Wizzy? Pandy? Sargey? RaKaisy? Lol, I like cutesy names.
Heh, trust me baby, I would freekin' LOVE to be the Punisher... though I'd like to be 30-40 years younger than his canon age is now (Between 50 and 60)
I don't actually know what I'm going to write, I plan on scoping the forums and re-reading some fan fictions to decide which character I'll be using... Hopefully by then, this damn illness will go and I can think straight for more than two seconds.
I remember when I was writing the Soul Killer story, I kept having doubts about whether I was doing it right, whether I was contradicting Jay's canon or not, stuff like that. So yeah, it was tricky.
I'm wondering if I should enter the competition. Get my mind off WC.
I may throw something in towards this , I need to tickle my creative writing style again, and hello everyone!
Already the 8th and we're well into the month of February. I hope you guys are brain storming ideas! I'll be periodically reminding you about this Assignment's existence just so you never forget. Work hard!
Alright. I'm creating a Hollows' Beasty for a spin-off of Jay's series. You guys got these choices: intelligence, brute strength, stealth, armor or downright scary.
