Lol, I really do laugh at the dumbest sh*t sometimes.

Anyways, how is everybody coming along with this? I get the impression that nothing is happening, which ain't the best impression to be getting if you catch my drift.

I won't actually be entering this, so you all got a fighting chance now at least.

Reason being that I just couldn't come up with anything.

Weirdly, I'm still working on WARRIOR. I keep trying to finish it, but instead of finishing it I keep adding to it, which doesn't make sense. It's like some strange compulsion that I can't resist. Even stranger, I know I'll probably cut out half of the stuff I'm adding in. Wonder if this happens to Karen Traviss, my guess would be.... no.

Call me Dragon. But I don't think I'll be able to get the entry in by the due date at the pace I'm going. There's lots of planning and "don't f*ck this up" going around in my head.

Yeah, I had that while I was working on my Soul Killer short. I had the crazy idea I was missing something but I just didn't know what it was?

My advice? Don't over think, just go with your instincts.

If you contestants feel like it, you can recycle an old story you've written, fix it up, and use it as your entry as long as you haven't used it in the Assignment before. Keep in mind the topic, however.

Lol, if there's one thing I hate doing, it's evaluating someones else's work. I'm either completely tactless, and brutally honest to the point of borderline cruelty, or overly gushing and praising to the point of being sickeningly sycophantic, I guess it's all mood dependent.

There's a template I made if you don't want to make a written review. Just fill out the numbers and give them a total score. I can give them the detailed feedback. At least this'll make the competition more fair, since I may be biased toward one person over another unconsciously.

... as for this month's work, I won't be taking part. I love the idea, however, its a bit too late to get something of value out in my honest opinion. Especially considering it involves other peoples' characters, I don't want to half-ass it.

Sir, I can write about Stranded in a day, sir, but when the focus is another writer's work and I have a week and a half... nigh... this seems to be too complicated for such a short time span! Not to mention I've been off the writing/read portion of the game for how long?

It's using another author's characters. This includes Marcus, Dom, and the rest. This also includes Doctor Who if you want to do a crossover. The possibilities are endless, as long as its someone else's character.

Hehe the idea of a Dr Who slash Gears crossover makes me lol - the Doctor would probably save Sera without the years worth of agony and fighting with just his Screwdriver and a toothbrush!!?!?!

And make Marcus look like an idiot in the process. (Am I overpowering a man who doesn't believe in weaponry... possibly.. but you gotta have faith in the Doctor sometimes)

Anywho meanwhile I'm ticking along nicely with this piece. I'm off on sick for about a week now, fell in work and sprained ankle so can't really walk, so writing is pretty much the only thing left for me until I'm back on my feet again.

Real life done smacked me in the cajones before I even got an idea down. I can't think of someone else's character I can craft a story around. Except maybe Dizzy, but we're talking about another author's character, right?

Dizzy isn't your character. It's Epic's. Go for it. Originally my wish was for you guys to write with each others characters, but I -did- say any character but your own. Keep in mind, though, I hold the power of grading you based on creativity for Use of Topic. Being more creative with the characters you decide to use nets you more points.

Edit: Also, how's everyone else doing, while I'm here? Only a week left to write!

Intrestingly, I may have a piece for this by the end of the day (deadline). Just need to read up on someone's character and my idea will come to fruition! Don't be too disappointed with a no show (again). It's hard to juggle writing and all the demands of the last few weeks...
