Anyways, on topic, how about a Christmas type story? Pretty sure Jay's already doing one, Jonesy mentioned something about a new chapter or new version of her Christmas comedy story, and I think Rusty and Grub would like it too.

I'd be up for this, would be fun to write.

Lol, anyways I guess this is where we discuss posted stories? If so then I'll talk about SKORGELINA's Holiday themed story.

Personally, I thought it was an impressively told tale, with a vivid, gritty, descriptive flair. I kinda liked the fact that we knew very little about the protagonist, that he was something like the unknown soldier or man with no name (ok, so that's despite the fact that he actually had a name ), kinda like an old school Hollywood style character.

Strangely it shares a motif with the thing I was doing, which kinda sucks since everyone will now think I stole SKORGELINA's idea.

Though it was bleak, it had a bittersweet ending, that happy sad thing, which somehow felt appropriate. And overall I thought it was a very enjoyable offering, so well done SKORGE.

Think I'll read Seran Spartan's one too, haven't read anything new in quite some time.

Well, I'm in a giving mood.

And yeah, read Seran's, thought it was pretty solid overall if a little stilted in places. Like when the UIR sniper sits down and says, "Hey, I'm in the UIR... " It just seems like an odd thing to say, and wouldn't Nichol's have known that anyway?

It actually reminded of a WWI story too, where apparently (don't know if it's true or not, but I think it is ) the British and German troops had a ceasefire on Christmas day and actually exchanged gifts? But anyways, overall it was a good idea and fairly well written so Seran Spartan should definitely try to keep writing, you improve so much by just writing and writing. Like Stephen King says, "Writers write, and people who aren't writers, just don't."

I enjoyed doing SURVIVORS that was a fun albeit random storytelling. I also think poor Bonnie carried Johnny most of the way and he goes and gets himself killed.

Ah Boss, I've been busy cupcaking, making mince pie cupcakes for christmas so the cakey goodness still lives on.

Funny thing about "BEAST" SKORGE, I couldn't resist adding in extraneous characters and side plots which caused delays. I have no idea why I do that, but I've noticed I do it a lot.

WARRIOR doesn't have a cast of thousands or an elaborate, overcomplicated plot. It's short and punchy, which means it should be pretty easy to write... I guess?

And yeah Rusty, SURVIVORS was vicarious fun, with some great storytelling in places too. Will you be doing something for this months assignment? Maybe even something, unconventional?

Has Jay ever done one of these things? Jonesy? Wizzy? Pandy? Sargey? RaKaisy? Lol, I like cutesy names.

That's the beauty of it. If you want to do a cross over, go for it. If you want to use Karen Traviss', go for it. If you want to use mine, Jonesy's, RaKais', etc, go for it.

The goal of this month is to write with another person's characters, not your own OCs and characters, side or main. However, creating OC specifically for this story is allowed, as long as the focus isn't on them, but the character you're writing.

I don't actually know what I'm going to write, I plan on scoping the forums and re-reading some fan fictions to decide which character I'll be using... Hopefully by then, this damn illness will go and I can think straight for more than two seconds.
