Quick Match = Fun, Ranked Match = Camping?

The quick matches I go into people are running around having a good time it seems just shooting people and blowing stuff up. Then I go into ranked matches and its a mad dash for the boltok or sniper, then both teams sit back with their AR's and wait for the other team to make a move.

I guess its a completely different game when everyone is worried about their k/d. I think I will stick to quick matches because people play more recklessly and it seems overall more fun, the last ranked game I was in felt like it took 45 mins, it was probably less but not much.

I think since quick matches tend to have 10x the people that ranked matches have, that it becomes a mix of good players, new players, old players etc, and ranked is kind of where the guys who really care about stats etc go so they are all afraid to move it seems. I barely ever see 5k at most in ranked matches.

Ranked seems to be where all the whiners are, all they do is ***** about sos and use it themselves. I bet most of the vocal minority that cry about the sawn off on the forums are on the ranked match playlists.

when servers are down, ranked = horrible to not only find a match, but to play in it. Takes forever, due to knowing the servers are down, so camping becomes prevelent.

Quickmatch, is just an all out who can get it done the fastest, which in my opinion is the most entertaining of the two playlists.

Same here. In gears 2 i only played ranked matches. But now i find the quickmatches to be more fun. It's fast, you get a mixed variety of players. I hardly meet campers. And almost everyone goes all out. I don't see any reason to play ranked right now.

K/D is no longer a meaningful stat in non-ranked matches, because of the presence of bots. I've played multiple rounds in a row with 4 bots and one real player. Easily pads your K/D, so anyone that brags is kind of silly.

Yea I see your point, but barely anyone plays ranked, and the ones that do just sit back, it was so boring. They need to fix that problem where the game gets stuck on bots as well, people should be coming in to that game.

I stick to Quick matches exclusively. I tend to care too much about wins and K/D to the extent that I lose enjoyment from the game. Playing quick match is the exact multiplayer experience I want from a game like this. I love continuing on in a room and seeing the teams continually mashed up. It's never the same experience since everyone has a different play style.

All my friends and I get in Quick Matches is a bunch of quitters. As soon as we start stomping the other teams dicks in the dirt they bail. Then the rest of the match is bots.

This happened nearly every game we played last night.

Usually it's quick, but sometimes it isn't. It just makes me laugh that people brag about their K/D when there's bots. I can go 20-0 with all bots, almost anyone can and my K/D ratio isn't that great.

yea I went into a ranked match yesterday expecting competitive players. What did I get? EVERYONE in the game other than me was using the sos. Wtf kind of ranked is that

You never said which gametype.... I know for a fact Warzone has action, same with CTL and TDM so I can only guess youre playing KOTH or Wingman which are complete shotty fests.

that's because most of the ranked matches contain players relying solely on the DBS....wingman especially :/

Quick matches will get praised more as you don't need a full squad to win.

Execution and TDM ranked, all the games I have been in lasted far too long, and both teams seemed to just find a high ground and post up there with planted smokes. It was so boring, the only reason I didn't leave is because I have 0 ranked disconnects, otherwise I would have left I was so bored. I could have went kamikaze by myself into the other teams "base", but that would have just netted me a smoke stun then a sawed off to the face.

I have heard that server priority goes to ranked and quick match gets what ever is left over. Beats mode, Horde, and private/custom are all P2P.

Half my inbox was hate mail from using the chainsaw when I played lots of ranked guardian, and I got "host" this and "host" that. I have gotten hate mail in quick match but nowhere near as much. I have tried ranked TDM and my team seemed quick to get irritated. Getting a ranked match was not that slow but I have heard of people taking forever to get a match. I do wish there weren't so many bots but getting to play is really the key here.

Its like when people play Quick match they let loose and don't play scared, in ranked the majority of people play scared and it shows.

Ranked matches are horsecrap. I've either had a terrible team or I've face a terrible team. With the advent of Quick Match there is absolutely ZERO incentive to participate in ranked anymore.
