a couple of friends and I are going to start those this weekend and wanted to know which maps are the best for both Horde and Beast, for first time beginners to get a feel of them? thanks.

Ive found hotel to be the easiest so far. also, to me it seems easiest when you only have 3 players in a team otherwise points are harder to come by (unless you're a Kantus healing everybody) and in turn the later beasts are a lot harder to unlock.
my fastest time on hotel was 19:32 with 2 friends.
Overpass is the best horde map just camp ontop of it, i always buy the silverback by round 8 and just go to town, by round 42 i had 52k![]()
I find Hotel to be my favorite horde map, we usually build all our defenses in the hotel, and I buy the silverback
Beast, I think checkout is the best out of all maps

Overpass and Gridlock in my opinion. Over pass requires all enemies to come up the stairs which creates a bottleneck. I like Gridlock because you can post up at the top of the stairs and in the building and pick off the enemies in the streets. Also the large bosses can't come up the stairs.
thanks everyone, will give those maps a try. also, can someone please summarize how accumulating money works in Beast? are you able to upgrade to a higher end Locust based on your individual kills/money earned or is the money pooled together as a team (the total amount seen on the upper left corner)? thanks!
In Beast mode all money is earned individually, though you do get money for about everything (downing, killing, destroying their fortifications).

Thanks to Cher, Flak, III LYCAN III, Yosoypr, Larry Lipschitz, and ToRcHiiNgNerDz for the codes!
I understand wanting to find maps with good defensive points, but I prefer finding the best spot on multiple maps as well as cahing up the spot I've chosen on any particular map.
Besides which, when you start to get overrun by berserkers or such so you really need to abondon camp and start circling the map picking off opportunistic targets.
Berserker Boss Wave Tip: Circle the map killing off all the little guys first and then find a Scorcher, Incendiary Grenade or Hammer of Dawn. You have to set them on fire to soften up their armor plated skin.
If just one guy has a Scorcher, he can just feather the trigger and keep a Berserker weakened and (mostly) stunned. He will still pull off a charge now and then. But if one guy has him on lock down, the rest of the team can make quick work of him.
When there are 2 or 3 at once things get a bit more interesting!
thanks everyone for the advice and information. also, are boss waves consistent, like everytime we reach wave 10, it is the same boss for that wave or is it totally random (like you could get a lambent Berserker in Wave 10 today, but on Wave 20 tomorrow?)
Horde: Overpass
Beast: Trenches
All waves in Horde are random. Every 10 are boss waves, but you never know what will spawn.
Trenches you can even pwn Onyx Guards with 'em
About the scorcher and berserkers, if you watch your base you'll know it is a berserker because a scorcher will pop up in front of it. By base I think I mean your command post.
If you're going for Beast, Especially insane, Trenches is your map. I had 4 people, myself included, and we rocked it in 12 min insane.
