Anyone beat Insane difficulty solo?
So, I cleared Insane mode up to the very last battle. I realize it's called Insane for a reason but some parts don't seem to have been play tested much if at all.
For instance, Act 1 Chapter 6 where you start off going down the zip line onto the bridge, as soon as you land there's a Gunker lobbing gunk (not to mention a couple other glowies). I had a rough time surviving the initial landing and finding cover without being gunked within 3 seconds (boo, splash damage). Out of the oh... 12-15 attemps, I survived two (died once, finally cleared on the 2nd).
I've been trying to beat the last phase of the final fight on Insane and starting to think it's impossible solo as the squad AI can't be counted on and then always been outright killed by everything, having to start over. My biggest complaint is the seemingly non-stop supply of guards climbing up the tower and plinking at me as I try to avoid the heat rays and take the boss down.
Has anyone finished Insane solo and have any pointers? If not, I'll just wait to finish it with a friend or two. Just frustrating being able to clear it up to the very end then hitting a huge wall.
See some tips that a bunch of us have covered in this thread and feel free to contribute: http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/...sane-Mode-Solo
And yes, the final battle is ridiculous. I found that this part, along with many others, you had to keep moving. Knock of a few guys, get to cover for the "beetle beams" , rinse and repeat. Continuing to move around is the key.
PS. Spent hours, probably 50 times on that Gunker part on Act 1 Chapter 6, until I realized you could go backwards immediately after landing from the zipline and hop behind that wall.
Cool, thanks for the link. Guess I'll keep trying.
Is there any way to NOT fight the mommy corpser in the corpser nest? I try t sneak through because I know its going to be impossible... If anyone wants to play with me, add me on XBL... XxComaXxWhiteXx
Ive made it this far solo on insane, Im pretty good with Locust enemies. Gunkers and bosses are a different story. its trial and error of different strategies...
