Baird and Sam [SPOILERS!]

If you haven't beat campaign, don't read.

After Dom's heroic sacrifice did anyone see the connection with Sam and Baird.

I know it was MERELY ONE line, but if you read the books they're connection is obvious.
I'm only disappointed that they ended the game so quickly after the final battle. I wanted at least a 10-15min cutscene of the future maybe with Baird and Sam, Marcus and Anya. Where everyone settles like Hoffman and Bernie etc.

Anyone agree/disagree or got any insights?

Keep in mind that there is Campaign DLC already on the way, which we already know involves Bernie and Hoffman in some way, so we may get some of that information.

Possibly. It may be doubtful of DLC taking place after the campaign.

Is it bad that was WAY to overjoyed when I saw this scene? I knew it would happen!

I agree with you 1000000%. Don't get me wrong Dom was awesome. But Baird and Sam are my 2 favorite characters. And everyone said "Dom and Sam, read Coalition's End." And I did read Coalition's End and the other books and I was able to pick out Baird's attraction to her through the books and the campaign. So I hope Baird and Sam hook up in future DLC or the final book!

I know what you mean! I was sick and tired of people saying "read the book, Sam likes Dom", but they didn't read between the lines. I'm thinking it'll probably be explored further in the new book, which makes sad how long I'll have to wait.

I kind of look down on the relationship as Sam basically having to settle with Baird after losing Dom.

I'd rather her actually shoot him down, but in a sympathetic way that teaches Baird to be a little more sociable.

Saw it coming.

It seemed to be Baird finally just opening up to someone and giving up the bitter facade, while Sam turned to him for some reason. Can't quite explain it, but it just feels right, you know?

^This. Also, I don't think Sam is "settling" for Baird if they are to hook up. I think the two always had a connection, it just went dormant for awhile and then re-awoke when they needed each other.

"Well Dom is gone, how about you Baird?" Sounds wrong and weird IMO. If The Slab plays couple years later maybe, but I really can't see them together.

it wasn't a "connection" Baird and Sam hate each other, and it was Bairds way of letting her know he knew she was upset (like everyone else was)

Obviously it was Sam and Dom until he died.Remember how
in Mercy Sam said I wouldnt want to end up like them, Dom Responded:its ok Sam,I'll protect you.

Not sure if there is a connection, but it is hinted in the novels that she does take a liking to despite their personalities. She had a crush on Dom, but by the time Gears 3 took place, I think she knows Dom will never find someone again, and she has to accept that, which i think she already did before the events of Gears 3. Who knows, as a fan-pairing, I like them. It may not look like it, but they're made of each other. Canon-wise, not sure, but I ope they might be in a relationship together.

Yeah, I think so. They are very much alike (both mildly sarcastic), and are friends, like that one friend you have that you act like you hate, but kinda' like.

Lol look Sam loved Dom there was a scene while searching for fuel at the submarine when Marcus asked her if she was ok and she repled "no and neither are you" Baird also mentioned during the game that she likes Dom and Sam reacted furiously! Baird only said something to her at the start of act 5 because he cares about her and her feelings even though they were for Dom!!!

Anyway Sam loves me not Dom or Baird lol

You could clearly see during the progress of the game, that when they "insulted" each other that they really like each other. It's basically what happens in school and wherever else. Boy likes girl.. Boy hits Girl.. Girl hits Boy.. Then they get together.. sort of thing.
